Cute guy is watching me through the window. I smile and laugh to myself as I see how shy he is. It's adorable. I wonder what his name is and if the mysterious Toni has woken up and found the coffee I left her earlier. I woke up early and all I could see was a mop of dark hair peeping out the covers. I was shattered last night and went to bed early, before she came back from wherever it was she went. I tried to stay awake but it wasn't happening, so I gave in to much needed sleep. I'm not sure if the heat is a factor. Anglesey wasn't quite as warm as here and I'm not used to it. I'm dressed as cool as I could in a pretty flowery skirt that comes down to my knees and a lightweight sweater. I might have to go shopping soon for more suitable stuff though. Before I melt into a puddle somewhere. I ask one of the other girls that works here and she tells me there's a mall about 10 minutes away and if I'd like, she will show me when we finish. I nod, saying that would be great. It looks like I've already made my first friend here. The rest of the day goes by pretty quickly but cute guy doesn't come in. I was hoping he would but maybe I'll see him later on campus. I can hope.
Ellie, my new friend, is eager to show me the mall so we set off straight away after we finish our shift. She has a car with her so we go in that to save time. The first shop is Hot Topic. It seems to sell similar stuff to Pulp in Manchester so I am more than happy in here. I grab some shorts and a couple of t shirts and pay. There's a couple more shops we visit, me grabbing a few pretty dresses, skirts and flowy tops, and some summer pyjamas. I also get some toiletries and make up as I didn't bring too much knowing I'd find somewhere out here to get them. It's a good thing we came by car as I buy quite a bit without realising. I am very lucky as my parents have given me a good allowance. I'm an only child and they knew this opportunity was going to be an amazing experience but I've still found myself a job so can save some of their money to take back with me. Ellie gives me a lift back to campus and we exchange numbers incase we need to contact each other before I head on up. I open the door and once again, no sign of the elusive Toni. But on the table in the lounge is a plate with a cake on it and a note. Thanks for the coffee this morning! Help yourself to cake.

I laugh at the turtle she's drawn and cut myself a small piece of cake, savouring every bite. I finish the coffee I brought up with me, thinking maybe getting a kettle would be a good idea, before I go and put my newly bought goodies away.
