The Reaping.
As she voted yes for the Games, the person picking the names were Johanna Mason. This time, ages from 10-18 were to be allowed, which many think was unfair as the games against the districts were for 12-18 so this had many people very mad.
Johanna voted yes because snow had a granddaughter, but after her grandfather's death, she had killed herself as she had nobody else to live with. She couldn't copy anyway.
Katniss, Haymitch, Peeta and some others also voted yes.
Johanna dived her hand into the female bowl, revealing the name Lillia Unwin, age 16. Then to the boys. Karl Vasil, age 13. After about 10 minutes, there were 12 boys and 12 girls stood, terrified and frozen to the spot in single file lines. This time, it was different. The crowd of all districts watched and laughed pathetically at them all as they stood nervously on the stage.
Each 2 pairs had their own mentor, which was one of the victors from each district. Even though it was a tough decision of who was doing what, they eventually decided. Luckily, they somehow had enough victors so that they could do it. Even though many were too terrified to speak to the mentors as they were scared, some just went on and on without stopping. Melissa Riches was so scared, that she ran away, in hope that she would somewhat find herself somewhere far. She only ended up in the next changed room though.
One of the unusually silent ones were Paris, who was an excellent knife-thrower yet is also good at hiding. This moment in time, she was thinking, thinking about how she could win. If it was possible, which she didn't think was but still tried. She and Austin Unlist were quite good friends and would most likely ally together as he was good at both finding and was fine with the bow and arrow.
