spill my guts out, spill my guts out
Gretchen Mason was never the one to fall for the guy that bumped into her and made her drop her belongings. She was never lucky enough to even have that happen to her— to have that boy perplex with words, bend down with his eyes all widened and his hands already picking up her books, then, stop when he looked up. She never had a guy or anyone freeze with butterflies in their stomach when their eyes crossed her face.
Crushes didn't exist when it came to the Mason girl and guys simply didn't have crushes on her (well that's what she thought). But she didn't mind that guys "weren't into her" it was that no girl had even tried to become friends with her (not that she actually wanted girl friends. . . She wanted them to want to become friends just for it to turn into more). Gretchen wasn't going to make the first move and if the girl she liked wasn't it was a complete waste of time. She didn't think she'd take rejection well if you'd ask her why.
Her freshman year and becoming friends with Manny Santos was just another reason to add to the list.
