Chapter 17: Secret Society, Which We Keep Secret, From Society

We arrived at HoloHQ after the two hours ended - it felt longer than intended. The first place we went to was 'The Office', from now on I'll refer to it as the living room. I opened up the doors with Lapus right behind me. Moving out of the way to let her in, she immediately scanned the room. "They aren't here yet," she said in disappointment. "I shall search the building for them, don't wait for me." The short girl told me before exiting. The room was quite empty, only three people I knew were there at the moment; Fubuki, Marine and Ayame - she looks better now. Housho Marine was the first to notice and approach me, shooting me a simple "Hello". I shot it back, looking up at the taller pirate. "Got any plans today?" She asked out of the blue. "Other than a late night stream, nothing at all," I replied. She smirked right after I said that. "Are you interested in a collaboration stream with me?" How bold and untimely. "I think you'll end up sprinkling that 'subscriber magic' on me, ehh?" Pushing her elbow into me, she stated. That's kinda greedy of her to request. Everyone wants popularity, Marine definitely included. She's probably got over a million so far so why would she ask me for more? "Not happy with the way things have turned out?" I deadpan. She was caught off guard. What I had said caught the attention of the other two in the room. They got closer to see what the fuss was about. "I-I guess I am." Marine's getting nervous, anyone could tell. "You intended for me to change things by collaborating with you? To draw more attention to yourself?" I continued. "From what you've stated thus far, you plan to use me to gain subscribers. That's selfish Marine, very selfish." The girl in question puffed her cheeks, looking down at the floor as if her dad just scolded her. "Sutōkā, please calm down," Fubuki spoke up. Believe it or not, I thought I was the calmest one there - because I am. Then I giggled playfully, which was both unexpected and unusual for someone like me. "I'm kidding! I just wanted to see how Marine would react." I placed a hand on the pirate's shoulder, though I had to tiptoe a bit. "I'll collab with you," I tell her. "However, I apologize for my sudden outburst." The realization that hit Marine like a slap to the face was 'It's just a prank bro!' Her face turned red, embarrassed by my actions. Looking up at me with a mix between angry and embarrassed, she said "6 PM, Minecraft, you and me!" before stroking out of the room, stomping loudly. I couldn't help but laugh - I really found that funny. I look at the other two, both having nervous looks. "Hehe.." they said in unison. Then, I turned to Ayame's direction. "What games do you play?" I ask. Her response was shaky, of course. "Ah...I-I play Apex Legends quite a lot.." I gave her a nod, as well as a smile. "How about a collab?"

At this point, collaborations with me are being handed out my girl scouts. I had no problem as long as it was during the daytime. I stream by myself for continuous hours at night, and I'd like to keep it that way. Anyways, I'm walking along the halls, aimlessly of course. It's not like I could stream here in the building, not yet at least. I don't have my own room. Then again, I only stream twice per day. I'll change my schedule to what I think I could manage, which is three times a day. Yes, this is good! While I was deep in thought about my stream schedule, someone was calling out to me. They went "Hey! Hey Sutōkā! Heey" but of course I didn't hear them. It wasn't until they poked me in the back however that I realized they were there. I turned to face Lapus, along with three others. The short girl stepped aside so she could introduce her friends. "Sakamoto, Takeda and Kazuma." She pointed to each individual as she said their name. The first was Sakamoto, dressed mostly in black and white, as well as red accents. She wore a hood along with a mask. The hood however reminds me of an Orca, aka a Killer Whale. Next was Takeda, also in black and white. Pink colored hair with blue eyes. Though her hair looked like feathers. How interesting. Lastly was Kazuma, no not Kazuma Satou, Kazuma...whatever her first name was. The was the brightest one out of all of them, color pallette wise. Light blonde hair with light blue eyes. Yellow and blue, traditional-styled Japanese clothing. The thing I noticed was the katana on her back - it didn't move me. I took martial arts when I was younger, so her blade didn't scare me at all. "Ochitsu Sutōkā," I introduced myself with a nod at the end. They all did the same, except Lapus. "She's the one who you've recommended to join us, huh." Takeda spoke up, sounding assertive in a way. The short leader nodded her head, hands on her hips with a triumphant smile. "Alright then, can you wear this bag over your head please?" Lapus asked nicely, lifting up a small brown sack. I didn't see any problems, so I did what I was told. After putting the sack over my head, I couldn't see anything past this point. "Alright then, let's go."

-Time Skip-
20 minutes later...

We were at Lapus's house, since she went "We're here" when we arrived. I still wore my sack, they seemed to have forgotten I was though. It didn't bother me, so I let it be. Though they realized I still had it on. "Oh! Sorry Sutōka," the leader said, removing the sack. My eyes were hurt by the bright lights, so it took a good moment to adjust. It seems we were in a laboratory - it was so bright.



"Koyori! We brought her," Kazuma called out to her friend. She seemed busy but came over to our party anyways. The sack was off, so I could see what she looked like. Long pink hair with fox ears..or whatever kind they are. Powder purple eyes, which looked pretty. A white lab coat with a pink tie and a dark skirt down unda. Something caught my eye, a belt with a bunch of liquids. They looked toxic, so I'll keep my distance. The room was silent for a short while, eventually the new girl spoke up. "Koyori Hakui," she pit her hand, which was in a glove, out for a hand shake. I took it, saying "Ochitsu Sutōkā." She didn't seem confused by my name, and come to think of it, none of the other girls did as well. That's good. "Shall we do it here, or in our meeting room?" Takeda asked Lapus, her leader. The girl in question looked down, entering a thought process. It took a while, but she answered. "To the meeting room!" Holy enthusiasm, Batman.

We had arrived, the meeting room. It was just a bedroom, but Lapus had a cool looking bed, so I guess that's accountable.

"Have a seat everyone," she said calmly. The girls took up spots on the outskirts of the bed - I guess they were cushions. I took a spot next to Sakamoto, who hasn't said anything since we met. Once everyone was comfortable, the meeting began...I guess. "Today's topic is simply initiating and accepting Sutōkā as a member of HoloX," she informed. "If anyone has anything to say, please state so immediately." The room fell silent, only awkward glances were shot at them all, including me. "Well then, the majority had spoken. Welcome to HoloX, Ochitsu Sutōkā." Lapus gave an enthusiastic clap at the end of that. No one joined her, which lead to a pout. "I have but one question," the scientist said. She then turned to me and continued. "Can you give me permission to test certain chemicals on yo-" "No." I both cut her off and deadpan at the same time. Koyori crossed her arms, frowning. "You're now a fully-fledged member of our secret society, Sutōkā. Your only rule is to not tell anyone about us." I gave the leader a nod of understanding. Keep it a secret, got it. I take my phone out from my pocket to check the time. "Huh," I said in surprise. "It's nearly 3 o' clock. I've got to get going." Lapus returned my look of understanding, nodding as well. I got up and walked out of the room, going outside. Once out of the house, I check my phone to find out how far I am from home. Turns out, it's a half hour walk East. I can do that. And so, I march forward, all the way home. I think I got a heat rash or something by the end of it.
