So in the previous chapter I originally said that Darius had been arrested for involuntary manslaughter. It's actually attempted murder because he did try to kill Jackson.
If it was manslaughter then Jackson would be dead but he's not. Sorry for the confusion.
Like Señor Rodriguez wanted everyone to do, soon after the talent show had been invaded by policemen, Savannah, Reminisce, Josiah and Khalifa were in his office.
Señor Rodriguez didn't know much about what had happened aside from the fact that Darius had been arrested because of them.
They were all sitting opposite his table, with him wanting to know everything that had happened, starting with the fact that they went to prison a few days ago.
"You guys went to Silvercloud Holding Centre?"
It was more of a yell than a question to be honest, with nobody blaming him for reacting that way because they would have done the same thing had the roles been reversed.
Nobody replied for a while, with the four of them looking at one another thinking of how to answer the question. Khalifa did.
"How did you know that? We told the police not to tell the school."
"And you really thought that they would listen to you?" Señor Rodriguez fumed. "Why would they listen to four teenagers that had been charged for trespassing and invading an inmate's privacy - more than once might I add? Also I got an email this afternoon."
Which he didn't check until just before the police invasion because he had been swamped with so many as usual.
They didn't know why the police would have listened to them not to tell the school.
Señor Rodriguez was right: they seriously weren't thinking & now they had to pay all of the consequences.
Saying sorry definitely wasn't enough - they all knew that and they surely didn't need telling twice.
"Not only have you put the entire school in bad light, now Darius had been arrested and-"
"And what, sir?" Reminisce interrupted. "It's not our fault that Darius tried to kill his own son."
"Lilibet drove him to do it, Reminisce. Stop acting so defensive and innocent," Josiah barked. "You're not. None of us are."
Most especially Savannah. This entire thing had made her feel even more guilty than before.
What Señor Rodriguez didn't really understand was how their parents were okay with them going to prison.
Until he found out that they weren't okay because they didn't even know. Savannah's Aunty Ashanti told everything to Kesiena and Lilibet.
Reminisce and Khalifa's parents along with Josiah's had found out through the police.
"So you lied to your parents now?"
He was only getting angrier to be honest, and none of them had ever seen him like this.
He was only the vice principal as well. The real principal would have most definitely handled this in a worse way.
"Not exactly." Savannah fibbed.
"And now you're lying again. How did you even know Jackson was there?"
