There's a difference

There's a difference,

A difference between living and breathing.

One is alive,

Smiling,

Being honest,

Being okay.

One is breathing,

Wearing a smiling mask,

Acting,

Being "fine".

But nobody knows the difference.

They both start campaigns to stop popping pills,

Except one still does them.

One has a heart that's broken into pieces, but manages to tape it back up before they leave the comfort of their room - where they are safest, only for the tape and their dreams to shatter once they return to their oasis, one inch shorter.

One has a heart with walls so high not even a giant could reach it, but it's okay because they're happy, and someday, because they still can dream, they know somebody will be strong enough to tear their walls down, brick by brick.

One's a dreamer.

One's an actor.

No one knows who is who.
