"This day can't get anymore hectic, can it?" Akashi's eyes feel like the most heavy thing to him right now. Perhaps he should just stop by the side of the road? Sighing, he slightly raises his phone in a hand, stealing a glance at the lock screen. Woah, battery's almost dead, did he really navigate the GPS for so long? Yep. Probably shouldn't be driving at 11pm. But this is important! Keeping the phone aside, he tries to focus on the road ahead. There wasn't much to look at though, just an isolated and silent road. Or not, there were definitely sounds of crickets and other insects he occasionally heard. Not much familiar with these roads, Akashi still had to get going. This path was shown as a shortcut when he last checked his GPS, and neither did he mind venturing out on new roads as long as the dark sky was lit with moonlight anyway. As his mind keeps complaining about being strained for the day, his car slowly comes to rest. 'Wha-' His mind plunges into confusion, but it suddenly hits him to move his eyes to the dashboard. 0 kilometers ahead? Forget about the long day, he's definitely in for a long night too. How to find a gas station in the middle of a forest somewhere hidden in the mountains? Whom to call? How would he even describe where he was?
"I swear I'm totally out of luck lately." He says, before tiredly setting his head on the driving wheel in frustration. What to do? Getting off his car, he sets it on neutral and tries to push it to the side of the road. For the first time, he actually felt like cursing his choices in vehicles, you see, the dark red Land Rover wasn't the easiest to maneuver like this. Once the SUV is in a good spot according to him, he finally stretches, trying to relax his muscles that were stiffened as the result of constant 1 hour drive after tiring work all day. Sitting next to it, under a tree, Akashi starts to contemplate his choices here. His phone's already dead so that's not gonna be of great help. He turns to look in the direction where he was headed, 'The city should be an hour's drive from here. Goddamnit, if only I checked the diesel before leaving.' His thoughts keep fighting in themselves, and once he realises this, he shakes his head violently, 'Nope, can't be thinking about something that's over. What can I do from here?'
Looking properly at his surroundings, for the first time, he notices this eerie feeling in the air, almost as if something was starting to creep up his spine. Trying to silence his intrusive thoughts once again, the creepy feeling in him is soon dominated by exhaustion. His eyelids start to get heavier again, and body sways on its own, right before sleep engulfs him.
"Ugh...." Akashi lets out a low grunt, trying to shut out the distinct sound of a blowing horn from his mind. Wait.....a horn? Slowly trying to open his eyes, he squints, and suddenly the memory of being stranded on an isolated road at night comes back flooding to him. Oh right! Rubbing his eyes, he looks down at his digital wrist watch, 01:12. The sound of the horn sounds clearer now. Akashi stands up, and sees small balls of light looking hazy on the road from a distance. They keep growing bigger. It's his chance to get help! Standing slightly on the road, he waves his hands high at the approaching truck. Why.....is the diver not stopping? Hoping the driver would notice him after coming a little closer, Akashi keeps waving, and tries to call out for help, or maybe just a lift to some gas station. When the truck arrives too close, he moves to the other side of it, in the opposite direction of the road from his car. The driver was looking down, at what Akashi could only assume was a phone. The truck drives past him while he curses luck again. But that wasn't the only unfortunate thing that was gonna happen this dark morning. Focusing on the truck driving by, he didn't acknowledge a white car that had been trying to overtake the truck from that side of the road, at an alarming speed. Trapped, loud horns come his way alongside blinding light. "WHAT THE F-" Before any other reaction, his hands cover his face, reflexes making him jump in efforts to dodge to the other side of the road....
.......Was he too late? Did the car hit a side of his body? He wasn't sure, but his blurry vision did seem to tell him so. Oh.......it's not only vision, but also the pain grabbing the right side of his body. This really shrill sound, almost deafening weakens him further. Is his head throbbing in sync with his heartbeat? The shrill sound blurs in and out, in and out, in and out........the white car.........this wet feeling......the white car crashed into a tree.......this red liquid flowing over his body.......
His mind is racing between his condition and the car. The sides of his vision start to fade away, but even in such a time, he feels that he's seeing.......a woman behind the wheel? W-....why is she covered in thick dark red liquid?.....It is hers? Her wild messy hair makes her look deranged, her clothes are definitely torn.......
Akashi's eyes roll back as he falls into darkness.
