"So this is it?" Asked Olivia, "Is this what our...breakup will be like?"

She said the word for the first time and you bit your lip. You both tried to hang on.

It was a lot harder than anyone thought it would be, but you knew you couldn't cry now and show all the emotions you were feeling. After all, Olivia was having a hard time, too, and you could see it, you could hear it in the shaking of her voice.

"I guess so," you paused and added, "we both know we have to do this. We've gotten to the point where it's the only option."

Olivia gently took your hand in hers, with a look as if to ask if she could do it. A soft and sad smile touched your lips and you squeezed her small hand.

"I don't want to be alone," Olivia whispered.

You moved closer to her and put your arm around her. Olivia was breathing heavily, but she wasn't crying. You softly touched your lips to her hair and ran your hand down her back.
Olivia put her arms around your neck.

"You won't be alone. I won't be a stranger to you. I will be your friend. Things just won't be the same anymore."

"Maybe we're wrong to see this as the end of everything and we have a chance at a reunion?"

"We won't know until later."

"I'm going to miss you. Very much," Olivia said looking into your eyes.

She gently ran her palm across your cheek and you covered her palm with yours and covered your eyes

"I'm going to miss the way you touch me" you said "the way you kiss me absolutely everywhere, the feel of your lips on mine and the warmth of your body"

"I'm going to miss that no matter how late I get home, when I get into bed you'll put your arms around me, cover me with your blanket and kiss me wherever you can reach."

You reached up to Olivia's face and began to cover her chin line first with little kisses that she loved so much and then her cheeks.

"You're really not going to leave my life?"

"That will never happen Liv."

"I'll still be your biggest support. You can always come to me and I'll help you." said Olivia, running her fingers through your hair

"And I will always remain your biggest fan. I love you Liv."

Olivia's eyes filled with tears as well as your own. You both knew your time as a couple was up and these were your last minutes

"I love you too Y/n. All that time when you were mine was the best time of my life."

"I'm still yours. Just in a different way."

You gently ran your hand over her face, so familiar.

"Can I kiss you?" Olivia asked.

"Yes."

Your faces slowly drew closer, and though you were so close that you could feel each other's breath, you took your time kissing.

In some ways it reminded you of your first kiss. Reluctant and cautious.
You leaned forward, just as you did a few years ago, and Olivia's soft lips touched yours.

The feel of her lips on yours was one of your favorites and never tires of it. Olivia moved closer to you, wrapping her arms around your neck the way she always did.

You kissed and kissed, knowing full well that the next few kisses would be your last. So neither of you wanted to stop. Just every second you were deciding "one more time, definitely the last." The realization that each of those kisses might be your last made them bittersweet.

You didn't know how long you spent like that, but after a few minutes you looked at each other, kissed again, and pulled away from each other.

"I'm going to go. I need to see how my apartment is, I haven't been in it in a while" you said "I'll be back tomorrow to start packing. Would that be okay?"

"Yeah sure, come back whenever you want."

You got up, and went to the door. But as you approached her you turned around and put your hands on Olivia's waist and pressed her against the wall, kissing her, trying to convey all the emotions you were experiencing in the kiss.

Olivia responded to the kiss as fiercely as you did, pressing your bodies together. You, on the other hand, moved down to her neck and left several kisses on the soft skin. A moan escaped Olivia's lips. That's what you wanted. Just to hear it one last time.

Olivia took you under your chin and pulled you to her lips, dissolving you in a kiss.

When you pulled away from each other and looked at each other you said nothing and you went to get your shoes on.

As you put on your jacket and turned around to say goodbye, a lump stuck in your throat and Olivia asked

"Can I give you one last hug if it's not too much?"

"Sure."

She walked over to you and hugged you tightly, you stood like that for a few minutes and neither of you had the strength to break that hug which was the last thing left of your relationship. But as all good things come to an end, so came this hug.

You walked out the apartment door, leaving behind a mountain of memories and happy moments. Olivia walked out after you.

"See you tomorrow, then?" You asked.

"It's a deal. If you need me and I'm not home that means I'm..."

"In the studio," you finished your sentence for Olivia.

"Exactly," she said.

Just then the elevator came to the floor and you stepped into it, waving goodbye to Olivia. As soon as the doors closed in front of your face you closed your eyes feeling tears streaming down your face
