"Cross-hairs lock you down, death kisses you on the forehead."

Duke Vance immediately left after his daughter introduced herself to Guinevere. He's a busy man after all, as he is someone who dominates the black market of the empire, the owner of an information guild, and the duke who rules the north. For that reason, the lady expressed her gratitude to the Duke with her farewell, to which he responded by reassuring her that he would stop his people from keeping an eye on her.Guinevere and Lesley were left alone in the drawing room with her knight and maid. However, no one dared utter a word. Guinevere seemed to have lost her words, which is ridiculous. She always knew what to say and she always had something to say. She doesn't want to admit it, but she is certainly nervous. That didn't bother Lesley at all; she was just sitting in front of her, smiling.
"Lady Guinevere-"
"Lady Lesley-"
They said in sync. The two ladies came to a halt but then laughed in a rather unladylike manner. It was at that moment that the awkwardness between them disappeared, as if it hadn't existed in the first place. Guinevere then raised her hands, and a transparent violet barrier encircled both of them. The puzzled Lesley was not given a chance to ask her what was happening when Guinevere grabbed her hand.
"Follow me!" She said happily. Guinevere's emerald eyes glistened, she had a bright smile on her lips, and her cheeks were blushing, making Guinevere shine beautifully in Lesley's eyes. 'I must be enchanted.'
BADUMP, BADUMP.
Lesley could hear her heart loudly beating. She felt that her cheeks were burning and she covered them using the hand that Guinevere wasn't holding.
They ran together until they arrived at the greenhouse, just beside Castle George. It was the lady's personal space where no one was allowed to enter. Even her guards hiding in her shadow, nor her brother and father, could ever set a foot there. The place was protected with multiple layers of barrier spells which only Guinevere knew how to cancel. The maids suspected that she might be hiding an enormous and fearsome monster there, but in truth, it was just a place where no eyes could see and judge the lady. Of course, it was also the place where she kept her important things, made potions, and formulated forbidden magic circles and spells.
"Welcome to my greenhouse, Lady Lesley."
"Yes..." Lesley uttered as she roamed her eyes around. The inside was bigger than the outside, perhaps Guinevere used spacial magic. It was full of plants and flowers, of course. Lesley could recognize some medical herbs and rare species of plants that she could only see in books. The place was also grand; gold and jewels were decorated on the walls, and a big diamond chandelier was hanging in the middle of the ceiling that reflected the sunlight, causing it to shine brightly. In the middle of the greenhouse, there was also a fountain, and beside it was a table and two chairs. Lesley now understands why she kept that place secret. It will cause a huge uproar in high society and even in the Magic Academy.
