Alice

"Bella," Alice Cullen's eyes were dark from thirst. She was still. My knees nearly buckled at the sight of her, but I took the momentum to hurl myself at her.

"Bella?" she sounded confused and relieved at the same time. I locked my arms around her and sobbed. She was cold, like a statue you'd see at a graveyard that could move.

"I'm sorry," I pulled back. "I know I smell."

"Yes," Alice was stiff. "It's my own fault, I shouldn't have gone so long without hunting but I was in a hurry... which is why I am here. How the hell are you alive?"

"What?"

Then I realized why she was here. She saw me jump off a cliff.

"You saw me fall?"

"I saw you jump," her eyes narrowed. I let out a sigh as I knew that if I got into it, it would take all night.

"I told him that this would happen!" Alice exclaimed. "Bella promised," her imitation of Edward was so spot on that I stiffened. "Don't go looking for her future because we've done enough. But I still SEE, I can't control everything. I saw you jump and got on the plane but... I thought I could help, I knew it would be too late. But then you drive up here and... who were you screaming at?" she shook her head. "Nevermind, but I never saw you leave the water. What happened? How could you do this, do you have any idea what Edward -"

I had to cut her off, especially after she said his name. I couldn't let her continue thinking I had planned a suicide.

"I was cliff diving, Alice."

"Are you saying you didn't want to jump off a cliff?"

"It's a La Push activity," I told her honestly. "The storm made it a bit harder, but I got out because of Jacob."

Alice didn't seem convinced.

"Who were you arguing with?"

"Jacob, he is... was my best friend," at this point, I wasn't sure how much of our friendship could be salvaged.

"And how could get you out if it was so strong?"

"He's...strong," Alice raised an eyebrow. Was it a secret when the treaty was made with the Cullens all those years ago?

"He's a shapeshifter of the Quileute tribe, a werewolf if you will" I felt the headache coming on. If it was from the trauma or the amount of explaining I would be doing, I don't know. I should start a regular subscription at the pharmacy from the amount of medicine I had to consume.

Alice gawked. I wasn't sure if she had been with Carlisle back then.

"That explains the smell but  - your best friend is a werewolf?"

And my boyfriend is a fox spirit, I added in my brain. There are more vampires in town and you're all late to the party.

"How long has this been happening?"
"A few weeks," I said defensively. "He hasn't been one for long. I don't go looking for them, you know."

"A young one? Bella! That's even worse. Edward was right, you are a danger magnet."

"There is nothing wrong with them."

"Until they lose their temper," she took her head. "Leave it to you to find the first monsters you can find."

"Like vampires are any better... and the vampires never left town," I frowned. Anger flared up in my chest. "Victoria came knocking, and so did Laurent. I would be dead without the werewolves protecting me."

Alice hissed and sat me down. "Tell me everything."

I told her everything that had to do with the wolves and Victoria. I left Jungkook and his family out of the story. They had nothing to do with anything and they had never caused any trouble. They had lived in Forks for longer than Sam's pack had been around. I left out the past few months, how I had been, and the motorcycles.
