'She knew she loved him when home went from being a place to being a person.'-E. Leventhal

June 2027

"Autumn, I mean I haven't seen you in forever, not since my going away party 16 years ago."

Emily mused as Autumn thought about it nervously. She did miss Emily, but seeing Emil would ultimately mean seeing Logan and Autumn wasn't sure that she was ready for that.

"I can't."

Autumn said as Emily pouted at the other end of the phone.

" What did I do, I mean ever since you left Oaks you haven't been back."

Emily noted as Autumn considered telling her about her. Let's have a mental demo of how that would go down. ' Well you see Em, I got knocked up by your brother and that's why I haven't been back to Oaks. And by the way congrats you are an aunt.'. Autumn decided that the truth was going to come out one way or another. And it wasn't as if the great almighty Alpha would kill her...at least she hoped that if he ever did find out that he would. Hiding the alpha's heir would be paramount to treason. And if the Alpha so desired, he could have her killed under pack law. Thankfully, she wasn't a part of the pack so that rule did not apply to her. Another reason would be Emily. When Emily transformed for the first time unexpectedly on her 13th birthday, she was with her. Afterward, the then alpha, Logan, and Emily's father decided that she would remain alive with their secret, granted that she told no one else about the existence of the werewolf. After that 'talk' with the Alpha, Autumn never revealed their secret, to everyone else she appeared blissfully ignorant. Luckily for her, Camille seems not to have inherited the werewolf genes as she was well past 13 years old and on her way to being 18 years old and still showed no signs of being a creature of the moon, and for that Autumn was grateful. However good a mother she was, she knew she was no substitute for a father. She have seen while Camille was growing up, the longing looks she would give those girls whose fathers pushed them on the swing in the playground. Or ever the side glance she would do when one such dad picked up their daughter and swung them over their shoulders. Camille never said it out loud, but she was a mother...she knew Camille knew what she was missing. But then again it wasn't as if she gave Logan the chance to even be a dad. She remembered when she first found out she was expecting a child... nausea, vomiting, and mood swings. That's when she considered contacting Logan to let him know that he was going to be a father, but then she imagined how that conversation would go. ' Oh hi Logan, it's Autumn your sister's best friend. Remember that one night we shared that meant absolutely nothing to you, yeah. I kind of got pregnant and...

"Autumn are you there?"

Emily asked breaking Autumn's line of thought.

" Okay, I give in. I'll come back to Oaks. But only for a few days. And Em, a lot has changed and I'm bringing someone else with me."

Autumn warned as Emily squealed with delight.

"It would be wrong if you didn't."

Emily said as she continued screaming with joy.

"Are you okay? I heard you scream"

Logan said as he burst into his sister's room at looked at her black curls bouncing off her shoulders.

" I'm fine Autumn coming to visit for a few days."

Emily said excitedly as Lucan's eyes pulped with shock.

"Autumn Miller is coming back it's been so long."

Logan thought as he flashback to almost 14 years earlier when he first laid eyes on her, in that white tube top dress with the bow. He remembered more than that too. He remembered peeling it off of her body and the mouth-watering scent of cinnamon and cream. He could drone in her and not get enough of her. But as he woke up at the crack of dawn his bed was empty. No chestnut hair sprawled over his pillow no emerald eyes piercing his soul. She was gone as if she were a dream that he had made up.

"What has she been doing all this time?"

Logan asked trying to sound as Nolan chart as possible. Is this a sister was good... Any signs of interest she would pick up on it. 'where was a good glass of Brandy when you needed it?' Logan wondered as he watched his sister lean back against her white balcony bed.

"Not sure I guess when she returns will catch up on all that."

Emily said as Logan left the subject alone and was about to walk out of the room.

"Oh, she said she was bringing someone else with her."

Emily said as she watched her brother come to a grinding halt and turned slowly to face her.

"A man someone?"

Logan asked trying to hide the jealousy in his soul. What was happening to him? It has been more than 16 years since he had last seen Autumn and he was now 36 years old. That was way too long...

"She didn't say. Is that jealousy I hear in your voice?"

Emily asked as Logan dismissed her with a wave.

"No."

He lied as he walked out of her room.

"Yeah tell that to someone who believes you."

Emily muttered as Logan's sighed.

"Pack meeting at 11:00 p.m. Don't be late and do not miss it."

Logan said as Emily looked at him ruefully.

"Are you speaking in the capacity of my brother or my Alpha?"

Emily asked as Logan shook his head laughing

"Both."

He replied as Emily smiled.

"Just checking."

An hour later...

"It's been a while since last month's meeting so I've decided to call one so as the address any concern any member of this family has."

Logan said as he opened the meeting in his private office at his company Designs later that evening. Logan specializes in designing houses and offices both commercial and private for all his clientele. But it was also a good place to hold meetings, especially for over 200 people.

"Well, we have concerns as to where this pack is going."

John said as he was the oldest of the three werewolf elders that served the redback clan; Emmett and James were the other two.

"I believe it's progressing fine considering that we are preparing for the full moon hunt in a matter of weeks."

Logan replied as Emmett shook his head.

"That's not what we're talking about you have arrived at your prime and you have needed a mate or pup to show for it is there a matter of your fertility?

Emmet asked as Logan thought he would almost stroke on his balls and then discuss his sex life with an elder.

"My fertility is just fine I assure you of that but taking meat and making pups are not the primary duties of an alpha."

Logan said as James spoke out of turn.

"You know if you're having trouble finding a lady we could help you know my granddaughter Lucy is unmated I'm sure she would be happy to..."

James continued as Logan caught him off right there.

"I do not need assistance. I will find a mate."

Logan said confidently.

"All right you'll have until the next meet hunt in 30 days."

'Miracle anyone?'
