Even the most broken of people eventually give their heart to someone, and that person can eventually make them whole.
(The Past)
"I have to go Eomma!" A raven haired child giggles, trying to tug his small hand from his mothers grasp as he waits in front of the school.
"I know Koo, but I need you to be careful okay? If anyone gives you trouble tell me immediately." The mother says in a serious tone, stroking the happy child's hair when he gives her only a toothy smile in return.
"I'll be fine Eomma, stop worrying. I'm about to be eight years old y'know." He says confidently, grumbling when she only ruffles his hair in response.
"How could I forget, my Koos all grown up!" She says, giving him a smile once more. "In that case you need to make sure your sister stays safe too Jungkook, y'all may be twins but your still older." She says, looking at the small girl next to him with just as much love.
"I will!" He says, giving his mother a big hug and grabbing his sisters hand. The women says nothing as her children run towards the school, only giving a sad smile as she gets up and tries to blink the bags from her eyes.
Jungkook and his mother were always very close. She was basically like two parents for him. Weather he knew it or not, his father was a drunk, and a bad one at that. Constantly coming home from late nights at the bar, his father always needed someone to take his frustration out on.
And that's where his mother came in.
Jennie and Jungkook didn't know it because she was so good at hiding it, but she was protecting them. Every night his father would beat her, weather it was physically or sexually, he would use her in any way he pleased, and she would let him.
As long as his father could beat her he wouldn't touch them, and that was all that mattered to Jungkooks mother.
They were poor, and because of that they couldn't leave. The best she could do was protect her children from the monster that was the man she chose to marry.
Jungkook was a happy child, constantly finding things that he loved in the world. His mother was his best friend, and that's why he loved her so much.
That's why she protected him.
Even though he was young, he knew his father wasn't a good man. His mother didn't let Jungkook see him much, but when he did his father was always very mean to him. He was a little bit nicer to Jennie, but that was because she was a girl.
His father expected more from Jungkook as a man.
He was always the loudest in the class. It wasn't in an annoying way, Jungkook naturally just had a way with people that made them love him. He was funny and sweet, two things that only existed from the innocence he still held.
He didn't know how harsh the world really was..
Jungkook believed in god at the time. He knew the church was bad, but that didn't stop him from having hope of a savior. He prayed every day that his dad would get better, and he hoped that his beautiful Eomma would be happy like she used to be.
