"We'll miss you, Yuki-chan!"
"Beat them! Totsuki Academy!"
"Don't worry, I will!"
"So this is Totsuki Academy?" A boy with short brown hair stated, looking at the vast school from the side of the street.
Shaping his hand to create a square, he saved an image in his mind before continuing up the sidewalk.
Carrying his kitchen utensils, he never thought he'll step on the roots of Totsuki Academy. It was far from his school in westward Shinjuku. And it's his rival school no less.
He brought out a parchment to reread the contents again.
We cordially invite a student from Totodai Culinary Academy to compete in the Kami Sensou. God's War in English. We expect he or she to come on the campus of Totsuki Culinary Academy to compete in our tournament.
"I wonder if my life is going to change here.." He muttered before reaching the school campus after a long walk. Peculating his interest, he went inside the campus. Looking back at the letter, he rushed toward the school main entrance.
Rushing through the corridors, he noticed there wasn't any students that were around. It seems there was classes going about, which was a rarity in Totodai Academy.
Totodai was always full of students talking, with a rotational time for themselves.
"This isn't going to work!" Suddenly he stopped in front of a classroom. The smell of squid cooking was aroma filling the room, even from the outside.
Giving a small peak from the closed door, a student was inside with a white headband.
"This really taste horrible." The red hair boy mentioned, before looking up to see a student peaking inside.
For one moment, he thought that the student was a girl. He had short brown hair, wearing a different uniform from another school. A feminine face was evident.
"Yo!" The red hair boy said, smiling. The brown hair was taken aback. "I'm Yukihira Souma! Who are you!"
"Yuki. Shinnozaki Yuki."
"Want to try?" Yuki felt apprehensive, remembering that this student must be a member of Totsuki Academy. However, a friendly aura was around that Yuki slightly nodded and came to taste the squid.
Souma gave a squid on a toothpick to him. Yuki noticed that peanut butter was on it.
"This taste really bad." Yuki winced, but gave a smile back to Souma.
"I know!" Souma replied.
"But tasting squid with acai jam is a whole lot worse."
"Acai?"
"A Hawaiian fruit. It taste sweet, but with squid it's so awful." Yuki shivered over the memory of the squid, feeling as if he was wrapped with tentacles under a sweet smelling pool of water.
"Naw, peanut butter seems much worse than Acai, Shinnozaki."
"Just call me Yuki, Yukihira-San."
"Then call me Souma!"
"Okay, Souma-kun." Yuki noticed that unlike other students at his school, he was a commoner. Souma grinned at him, as they were conversing the worst glazing to put on squid.
"Ah, Souma-kun!" The door opened and Yuki was astonished. The person at the door was almost naked except for the loincloth and the apron.
"Ah, Isshiki-senpai!" Souma was unfazed as he rushed over to the senpai. Yuki head tilted, as the brown hair senpai recognized the unknown student.
