Chapter 8: A Different Kind of War

Ray POV:

As we were going back to the cubby, we saw a red-headed girl go out of Randy's apartment.

"Oh, hi Randy! I just forgot my beanie. I'm in a hurry, talk to you later!" She winked at him and then went inside her Range Rover.

Randy was stunlocked and somehow I forgot to breathe.

So the beanie that I saw at his house is hers. I brushed off what I witnessed and went to where April is, trying to calm myself and hide my curiosity.

"Oop someone got caught." I heard Taco saying it to Randy.

"Shut up!" Randy shouted then looked at me.

"Let's prepare ourselves for this war now shall we?" Mr. K butted in.

K then gave us instructions on how we will breach their turf while still protecting ours.

Vinny gave me guns and armor.

"I will pay for these, Thanks Vinny!"

He just patted my head and said "Don't worry about it, just keep yourself safe. 'kay dear?"

I hugged him in reply.

I was partnered with Randy to patrol around Little Seoul for this night.

Oh hell nah, I don't think I want some alone time with him, well, not now at least.

"Taco, please let's be partners!"

"No." He smiled playfully.

"You fuck." I just know that he is playing with me because my partner is Randy.

"Chill there Rachell."

"Don't call me Rachell!"

Then I saw Curtis go out of his apartment.

"Curtis! My man!"

"What?"

"Let's be partners in patrolling, please?! I can be your girl!"

"Hold on, for you can be my girl part I don't know about that, you seemed kinda PG Ray." He scuffed.

"HUH"

"HUH"

"The fuck are you saying, Curtis?!"

"I'm kidding!" He then looked at his side.

I followed his gaze and saw Randy signaling Curtis, no. When he saw me staring he whistled and looked away.

"Anyway, I really love my partner, Taco." Curtis then went to kiss Taco's cheek.

Oh god. I guess it will be me and Randy tonight then.

I was just here on the roof while waiting for the time of my and Randy's patrol shift around the block. I haven't heard from him since the meeting.

Maybe he's with that girl. My heart felt a little stab thinking about it. Now isn't the time for this.

But I wonder who she is? I feel like I've seen her before, I just can't remember. Stupid brain.

I was so deep in my thoughts that I did not even hear someone climb up the ladder.

"Ehem"

I looked around and saw Randy sitting beside me.

"So. Are you ready Miss Mond?"

"Why the hell are you calling me that? Why are you being nice to me?" I raised my eyebrow while asking.
