A Week Later...

It's been a week since my birth mom came to my house unexpectedly. My mom and dad were livid when they found out about it. It just sucks to have a mother that never cared about you but all of a sudden, do. Honestly, I've been trying to heal and move on from all of it.

As I was taking some selfies in the bathroom mirror, I got a phone call from an unknown number. I decided to decline it at first because I'm thinking it was a spam call. The number called back again. I decided to answer it and I couldn't believe who it was.

"Hello?" I said, as I put the phone close to my ear.

"Hey Avani, how are you?" The person on the phone said. I was confused because I don't know who this person is or how they got my number. It was weird.

"I'm good, who is this? And how did you get my number?"

"It's Vanessa and your caseworker gave me your number when I met her the first time." She said. I rolled my eyes. What was Miss Tiara thinking giving her my number? I just wish Vanessa just stop trying to contact me, I don't want nothing to do with her.

"I don't want to talk to you or see you. Why do you keep trying?"

"Because you are my daughter and I want to make things right." Vanessa said. It sounds like she's crying or she's trying not to cry. I just feel like she should've had this same energy when I was 5 years old and all I wanted was for her to protect me and care about me.

"You had a chance to make things right when I was 5 years old but you didn't. So, you can't expect to come back in the picture now and think everything is good when it's not. I just want you to leave me alone, I'm not gonna say it again." And with that, I hung up the phone and blocked her number. I didn't even have the energy to cry, I'm done crying.

I grabbed my phone and walked back to my room. I laid down and decided to call Devin. I didn't hear from him all day because he was at work and he had to do something with his dad.

"Hey baby, how was work?" I said.

"Hey my heart, it was good, I missed you." He said to me back. This man doesn't know how much I love him. He makes me happy every day.

"I missed you too, you wouldn't believe who decided to call me." I said to him. It sounds like he was chewing on something, I'm guessing he's eating.

"Who?"

"Vanessa."

"Who's Vanessa?" He said. I rolled my eyes. Sometimes he can be really slow but then again, I don't remember if I ever told him my biological mother's name.

"My biological mother." I said.

"Oh, what she wanted? And how she keeps getting your personal information?"

"She claims she wants to make things right and I guess Miss Tiara gave it to her when she bugged her for my address." I said. I decided to turn on my MacBook Pro so I can watch my favorite show on Zeus Network.

"Oh, well what did you tell her?" He said, pausing his tv so he can hear me.

"I just basically told her to leave me alone and she had the chance to make things right when I was 5 years old. But honestly, I don't have the energy to deal with her or even talk about her anymore. What's been going on with you?" I said to him.

"Nothing much really. I do have to talk to you about something important but I want to do it face to face with you." He said. I hope it's nothing bad because I can't handle anything bad right now. Especially when it comes to him.

"Is it bad?"

"You'll just have to wait and see tomorrow when I come over." He said, it sounds like he's smirking.

"Devin, you know I be getting anxious when it comes to things like this. Can't you just tell me now?" I pleaded with him, hoping he'll tell me.

"Nope, you're gonna have to wait baby. I wanna see your face when I talk to you about this." He said.

"Okay fine, I'll wait."

"Okay good. Baby, I'm talk to you later before I go to bed. My mom wants me to help my dad fix something in the garage, okay?" He said. He's always helping his dad around the house and I love that about him. He's been like that ever since he was little. He wants to work in construction or be a architect when he gets older,

"Okay baby, I love you." I said as I finally got my show to play. Baddies East is my favorite show to watch on The Zeus Network but this season been a mess lately.

"I love you too." We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone. I hope today goes by quick so I can see my man tomorrow. I haven't seen Devin since that day Vanessa decided to come to my house. He's been there for me more lately ever since that happened. He's really supportive of me.

My mom and dad was really upset about what happened and they had set up a meeting with Miss Tiara for next week since she's on vacation at the moment. I like Miss Tiara but I just find what she did unprofessional. She should've never gave Vanessa my number or address. But I know everyone makes mistakes so I'm just going to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I personally feel like Vanessa must've kept bugging her until she had gave in because I know Miss Tiara wouldn't have gave it to her just like that. I guess I'm just going to have to find out next week what happened and why she gave her my information.
