Ashley's POV.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror, admiring the short sleeves lace black dress, it was both classy and casual, it was not so long not so short dress, it ended up between my mid-thighs and my knees. I added a golden collar, the ones my mom used to wear, and the promise ring Toby gave me two years ago when we celebrated our first anniversary. Yep you got that right people, I've been with Toby for three years now.
When I was done flattering myself, which took long since I haven't been to a party since forever, I slipped my feet in my black pumps, which had gold edges matching my golden necklace and ring.
I checked myself one last time, and then went downstairs with Melissa. Melissa wore that hot pink short dress, which hugged her curves in a very attractive way, and slipped her feet into golden shinning heels.
Once we were down, I called Toby telling him we were ready, he said he would be there in 15 minutes.
That meant he should be here at 8:05 p.m to be exact.
"Hey, Toby will be here in fifteen minutes, want to watch TV until he gets here?" I told Melissa.
"Yeah sure." Melissa nodded and headed with me to the couch where we sat to watch our favorite series.
Pretty Little Liars.
*****
Twenty five minutes passed by, and Toby still didn't arrive. I tried to call him but he never picked up. It was 8:30 now, and my curfew was 11:30 p.m which meant I only got about three hours to spend at the party.
I spent one more hour trying to call him but he never answered nor came.
We had to recheck and redo our make-up for at least 5 times until now.
When my phone rang I rushed to pick up without taking a glance at the caller ID. I just assumed it would be Toby.
"Heyy where are you, we've been waiting for an hour and a half now."
"Umm.. Ashley? Where are you?"
I recognized the voice, it wasn't Toby's.
"Ohh hey Nash, sorry I thought you were Toby."
"He still didn't pick you girls up?"
"No, we started to worry, he didn't pick up any of my calls, but anyways I'm driving there."
"No don't, wait there, I'm coming to pick you up" and with that Nash hung up the call.
Less than fifteen minutes Nash arrived, he must have sprinted his way here, it should take him twenty minutes minimum if he was driving sanely.
"How did you get here this fast?"
"Never mind, just get in"
I climbed in the passenger's seat while Melissa climbed in behind me on the couch.
"How was the party" Melissa asked.
"Amazing but way too crowded, did you try to call Toby again?"
"No." I replied
"Try now" Nash ordered me.
I did as he told me to, and Toby still didn't reply as expected.
Two seconds later he called back!
"He's calling"
"Then answer" Melissa yelled.
"Hello?"
"Hey babe, sorry I'm late, I'll come and get you now"
"Way too late, Nash just picked us up, I'll be at the party in twenty minutes"
"Ohh great"
"Why didn't you come? And why were you ignoring my calls?"
"Babe I wasn't ignoring your calls, I just had something to take care of"
"Yeah sure"
"You know what? I'll explain everything when you come here"
"So you're there?"
"Umm.. Babe I have to hang up now, when you arrive gimme a call yeah?" He said before hanging up.
That was weird! Toby never hides secrets from me, he owes me some huge excuses.
"He's at the party" I told Nash and Melissa.
"No way!? This moron ditched us and went there without us!" Melissa was very pissed off.
"I think he just got there, did you see him there Nash?" I asked Nash.
Nash was silent.
"Nash? you saw him, didn't you!? Why didn't you tell me" I was shocked that Nash knew all this time.
"I thought he should tell you himself"
"How long has he been there?" I asked.
"When I arrived there with Jake and Jessica he was already there"
"Ughhh this ass-head" Melissa said.
"I'm sure you confused him with someone else, he just got there" I said.
"No it was him" Nash argued.
"Shut up Nash, you don't know any of us that well, I'm sure you confused him with someone else" I snapped at Nash.
I don't know why I did that to Nash, but I was really angry.
I mean why would Nash not tell me that Toby was at the party? and why would Toby lie to me about being there!?
Twenty minutes later we were there. Once I got in the mansion, I headed to the bar and grabbed four to five cups of alcohol to cool myself down.
Then started searching for Toby.
He wasn't on the dance floor, not on the ground floor, not outside, not upstairs on the first floor nor the second floor.
There was no other place he would be at, except for the third floor, and I don't think he would be there, there's nothing but rooms on the third floor.
I was drunk and angry, I wanted to find him no matter where he was. So I went upstairs to the third floor, swinging each room's door open, not finding him in any, there was two rooms left to look in.
I swung the first one to find Andrew and Hanna making out.
"I KNEW IT" I yelled in excitement.
"Ash what the hell? Get out!!!" Andrew yelled at me.
"Ash heyy you're here" Hanna greeted me.
I think she was more than just tipsy.
"Yeah I just came here, I'm looking for Toby, did any of you see him?"
"Yeah he was here when we arrived" Hanna said.
"I don't think it's the right time to chat. Get out NOW Ashley!"
"Fine I'm out of here" I said before closing the door.
Even though I was so happy for Hanna and Andrew, but what Hanna told me was just like what Nash said earlier in the car.
I should apologize to him later I thought.
I swung the last room's door open. And to my total surprise, Toby was there with nobody but CLAIRE.He was literally swallowing her throat up. I stood shocked for seconds not knowing what to do.
When I returned to my senses, I took off the promise ring he once gave me, threw it on the floor, turned around, and ran the three floors down the stairs.
"Ash wait, I will explain" Toby yelled.
I was done with his excuses, with his explanations and with his lies.
I was done with him.
Uh oh!
What do you think will happen next?
Fill me with your expectations ;) x
