Moonrise

Introduction

The sun shone through the curtains and she woke up. She turned over in her bed and looked at the time. There was 5 minutes to 7am. She jumped out of bed and put on her clothes and shoes... but she forgot to tie them. She ran down stairs, grabbed a piece of bread and stuffed it in her mouth. She grabbed her bag and ran out the door. But it was too late... for the bus had just started the engine and set off down the corner of the road.

She looked around to make sure there was no one watching. Then she tied her shoes, swallowed her bread and zipped up her bag. And suddenly sparkles appeared around her, some were black and others were dark purple. Then they faded away... She was gone... instead there was a wolf, it was a few inches bigger than a fully-grown wolf. It was black, but the tips of its ears and tail were dark purple... its eyes were shiny and dark purple too, its paws the same and around its neck was as well.

It suddenly jumped up, it jumped so high that it was on the rooftop of the girl's house. Then it started to run, it was so fast that it looked like a blur. It jumped from rooftop to rooftop... Then it saw the school, jumped down, and in mid air it did two front flips, while it did them, those same sparkles appeared again, when it landed, the sparkles faded away. But... there was no wolf anymore, for instead, there was that same girl. The same girl with her dark brown hair and eyes, and her nicely tanned skin. Her hair covered her left eye, for it was her style. She had a dark purple stripe of hair too.

She looked both ways before crossing the road, then walked to the other side.. She went into school and a girl with light brown hair and light brown skin with blue eyes walked up to her.

-"Gale, I didn't see you on the bus today," she said,-"Don't tell me... you came in your wolf form!"-Then she folded her arms and stared angrily at Gale.-"You could have been seen, the sun is out, it's not night time."-

-"Melony, look,"-she said-"I woke up late and missed the bus, how else could I get here? Walk? That'll take too long and I'll get detention."-Then Gale too, folded her arms and stared challengingly to Melony. Right then a boy came in and looked at both of them, first at Melony, then at Gale and then back again. He had white hair and white skin with blue eyes. Gale and Melony were still staring at each other.

-"What's going on?"-he asked. Then Melony looked at him, while Gale looked away angrily.

-"Guess what Gale did, Blake"-she said-"She missed the bus and came here as a wolf!-Blake looked surprised. Then Gale turned to him, not looking at Melony.

-"If I didn't do it, I could have gotten detention!-she said loudly. Then some other kids stared at them with curious faces.

-"Shh"-whispered Melony.-"You shouldn't talk so loudly, they can't know... they're humans, well, maybe they might be werewolves pretending to be humans like us... but we can't take any chances..."-

And at that very moment, the school bell rang and they went into their classes.
