Stucked inside A Romance Novel

Chapter 2 - Something Wrong

The room Emma resides slowly disappear into thin air, leaving an empty space behind. Emma was brought into a white painted room with a smells of disinfectants and beeping sound of machine, showing the vital signs of the young girl sleeping on the bed. Her soul resides in that body of a young girl.

"AAH!" Emma, who now awakes was in shock.

The monitor shown slightly tachycardia, beeping due to abnormal reaction. The doctor and nurses in charge quickly attended her, trying to calm her down. During assessment, the three questions ; who, where , when was aked. She squeezed her eyes shut and holding her throbbing head. She strained to fit together a fragments of memories, yet unable to recall exactly who she was.

"My name ..I..think it's Emma..I cannot remember the rest." the girl look up to the nurse in front of her. The nurse pat her back trying to comfort her.

The female doctor who attended her slowed her movement, her eyes was calmed as the sea. She slowly raised Emma's hand and shown her name tag. 

"Miss . I think you are a bit confused. Your name is Shang Xin. Miss Shang came here 2 days ago to receive treatment for your injuries."

Emma's head throbbed again. 

Wrong.

She was sure enough that people called her Emma before. Shang Xin, this name strangely didn't ring a bell for her. "What is the name of this Hospital?" She asked the nurse.

"Hospital J, the nearest from J City Center High School."

Her body tensed. 

Unfamiliar name, unfamiliar place. This is not the city she came from.

Afraid of over stimulating the patient, the nurse stop chatting and proceed to notify the family member. Soon, there was sound of rushing footsteps. A young man, wearing an oversized white shirt and denim jeans came into view. His face had few points of resemblance with the girl at the bed.

" Sister, sorry I'm a bit late. How do you feels today?" He sit besides her bed.

Emma, or now known as Shang Xin nodded to the greetings. Her eyes looks at him cautiously. "I don't know you." She expected the man would be shocked but instead he pinched her cheek playfully.

" XinXin..though you not remember me, I'm your brother, Shang Xin. We both rent an apartment on Xinjiang Community. You favorite store would be the Uncle Lee bookstore at the corner street and when I brought back seafoods you used to be the one who excited the most until last year."

What happen last year?

She wanted to continue the chat but her brother already changed the topic and brought a worn out book from the bag he carried.

" Surprise! I took your favorite novel with me."

ShangXin thanks him and they chat a bit about their daily life. Soon, visiting hours ended and her brother gently pat her head. 

"Don't worry. Rest tonight and brother will come again tomorow."

Once her brother leave, the ward feels empty. A specialised medication nurse quickly came and administered few pills to her. Once eaten, she gone leaving the ward empty again.

ShangXin looks into the window outside. The evening sky was stunningly beautiful. Normally people would amire it but she had no time for that. Her heart currently feels unease and every heart beats seems to be stronger than before.

Something is off. 

Her eyes catches the novel by her bedside and she want to quickly gives few pages flips. Unexpectedly the novel fell down from her bed. When she look at the book again, her eyes opened in horror.
