I cannot do this today. Me and my mom just moved to Sunny California, but right off the bat something is wrong. We moved into an old run down city called Cantanova, and when we arrived, I bolted up to my room to look around and figure out what it was like. When I got to my room, I unplugged my earphones from my phone and I turned on my playlist. I didn't really want to stay downstairs with my mom because she and I don't really have the best relationship. When I was younger, she and I were really close and she was always super proud to have me as she daughter, but that all changed when she divorced my dad. He was one of the best people I ever met and I loved being around him, but apparently, he had cancer, and my mom didn't want to have to pay for his treatment. But since I was old enough, I got a job, and I thought I could try to get him his treatment before he would die, but I was wrong. I worked and worked, but I couldn't scrap up enough money for his treatment, and about two weeks after my parents separated, he died. Mom wouldn't even let me say goodbye because she was salty that I was in his will and she wasn't. I snuck out of the house to go to his funeral because she didn't want me to go and it was at night, but I have a pair of black slacks in the back of my car, along with a nice white dress shirt and black blazer. I drove to the service and after I set a black rose on his coffin. I could even begin to believe why my mom didn't want me to go to my own father's funeral. But afterwards, I had to go home and I barely had enough time to grieve before I had to get to work. But that was about 4 years ago when I was thirteen. I am now 17 and cannot wait to get out of this stupid house. I make about $45 a day, between my 2 jobs, and mom barely makes enough money to keep up her drinking problem. But enough about that.

I looked around my new room and noticed a loose flap on the wall. I slowly approved it, thinking that there may be a murderer behind it, but when I pulled out my pocket knife and checked behind the flap, there was no one. Must just be a draft, I thought. Nonetheless it was still odd. I noticed that it looked like there was a large room behind it with a window, as it had a light gray glow to the room, but then again, it could have been my imagination. "I'm gonna take a shower Mom!" I screamed downstairs, although it would be a wonder if she wasn't passed out on the couch already. "Alright Idory, just don't forget your towel!" Another voice screamed out. Must be my older sister. I walked into the bathroom and started up the shower. I made sure it was not screaming hot, as if I screamed my older sister would come running but not freezing cold. It was the perfect temperature on the first try. Pat on the back me. I shed my clothes and climbed into the shower. After I finished in the shower, I wrapped myself in my towel and walking into my room. I changed into simple pajamas, my favorite hoodie and sleeping shorts. I climbed into bed and slowly drifted to sleep.
