Middle School

At last, the most memorable years of Elaina's life. During the beginning of her 6th grade year, Elaina was slowly coming out of her shy shell. Although Elaina wasn't the most popular kid in school, she had a good reputation for herself. She was a quiet kid who didn't bother anybody unless they bothered her. Learning about more of her talents, Elaina wanted to join band and become a part of an organization where she can be her nerdy, authentic self.  Going through puberty and experiencing different hormones and emotions. Elaina learned by watching movies, and tv shows to educate herself on things that she might not know about.

Elaina was very sheltered as a child, so a lot of things that this generation of kids is doing, Elaina was a stranger to it. She didn't know what sex was, or what it meant to be a virgin.  By her not having knowledge in some of these areas, this made her an easy target to be the butt of all jokes. Whenever Elaina would tell the teachers about what was going on , this gave her the name teachers pet and snitch. This didn't bother Elaina at first because she didn't know how to fight her own battles because her Aunt Ruby and Love would do it for her. This will later take a toll on Elaina in her adult life, she just doesn't know it yet. To prevent both of her aunts from coming to the school and causing a big scene, Elaina would just keep everything to herself. This is when she turned to dancing as a way to escape from reality. Being able to just mentally disconnect from the world and focus on the music was the best way to release a lot of stress. Elaina found joy in participating in extracurricular activities to keep her mind going.

During Elaina's 6th grade year of middle school, she stepped out of her comfort zone and tried out for cheerleading.  This was like a breath of fresh air for Elaina, being able to be herself in a sport that she enjoyed. The praise from people that thought highly of her made her feel good. This opened her heart to become more involved with things in school, to keep her mind busy. Elaina was a very optimistic person so whenever she wanted something to work out, she would try to stay positive and not allow negative thoughts to overtake her. Elaina was around 12 years old now, and her childhood has been suppressed in her mind.  Elaina was fond of living in the moment and not worrying about the rest. That's the beauty of life, you will have us and downs, but its up to you to make the most of the now. With Elaina being a big dreamer she wanted to go to college and be a cheerleader to untimely become a NFL cheerleader. From the shoes, bows, and glittery makeup, it was something that really matched Elaina's personality. 

A few months into the semester Eliana began to crush on her band teacher, Mr. Garcia. He was someone who was always there to listen to her talk about all of her problems. There were times where Elaina would stay after school to get extra practice time just to show that she was really invested in becoming a better player. Elaina, was a dancer so she always danced to the slow of the music. It was difficult for Eliana to read music so she played by ear. This was something that became a gift and a curse. There would be times where everyone in the band would have to sight-read a piece of music in front of everyone.  Sight-reading was basically playing a piece of music you've never seen before. Being able to actually read music was something that Elaina wanted to learn how to do but it was something that never stuck. Elaina was so infatuated by Mr. Garcia, that she would make sure to get to band early just so she could talk to him before class started.  Elaina would come home every day from school with a story about something that Mr. Garcia did. He was a very humble person, just a crazy guy who had a passion for music. He was Elaina's epitome of the perfect teacher.

Nothing wrong with a little crush right ?
