By morning, I slowly opened and rubbed my eyes. As I woke up from that long, peaceful sleep, I began to realize how my night went. I must have been too tired at the time to notice, but Venti had held onto me for what I believe to be the entire night. And with that, I quickly sat up, being woken up a little more, only to realize the Bard was nowhere to be seen. I left the tree to search around for a note or some sign of him leaving, but I had found nothing. I was questioning how I was upset at the fact Venti meant me when he said that he liked someone, when he came walking back with apples in hand.
"Goooood morning!~" he sang out, nearly falling on me.
"Good Morning, but you worried me! At least leave a leaf note or something!" I scolded him.
"Speaking of leaf- ing a leaf note.." he joked, looking at me.
"Oh that's right.. you left me one yesterday." I say, reaching for my shirt pocket where I stored the leaf overnight, handing it over to Venti. He took the leaf and smiled, kissing the leaf. It took me a moment to realize it before my face turned to a bright red.
"Wait... That was your doing wasn't it? you controlled the wind to make that leaf go to my lips, didn't you?" I ask.
"A good Bard never shares his secrets." Venti smiled, placing his pointer finger on his lips.
"Venti can you come sit with me for a moment?" I motion to the grass next to me.
"Ehe." Venti replies, walking over.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I try to ask with a serious tone before letting out a small giggle in response.
"Oh nothing." Venti smiles at me. "Just thinking of how cute you look with a leaf in you hair." Venti laughs. I reach for my head and there is indeed, a leaf there. I wiped off the leaf with a pout, and Venti was still laughing.
His smile is practically contagious. He looks so attractive too.."ugh I'm such a simp!" I say out loud, immediately covering my mouth. Venti looks at me, wiping a tear from his eye.
"Hmm?" He looks over at me with a playful expression. "A simp you say?" He grins. I suddenly felt my butterflies go off again. I didn't even need to look at his face to know that I was as red as a tomato.
"I- i-" I stutter, frantically looking around. Venti comes over and holds my hand.
"Getting a little embarrassed, are we?" He says, standing me up and pulling me into him. "I'll do this now only because I want to see what adorable face you'll make." Venti looks at me, captivating me in his eyes, before wrapping his arms around my waist, closing his eyes, and kissing me. He held onto me as the warm rays of sun sneak through the leaves of the large tree, shining onto us. He pulls away, satisfied with himself. I was so mesmerized and flustered, that if Venti wasn't holding me, I would have hit the ground with a loud thud. I was already out cold in his arms, butterflies swarming in my stomach, leaving me with dizziness and confusion. When I woke up, a few minutes had passed but I'm assuming Venti had just taken that time to gaze at me, considering how he was doing so when I awoke. I hid my face in his chest and I heard his lovely laugh. "I was planning to save that, but your reaction was even cuter than I thought it would be." He said, chuckling at me.
"Well.. I can do that too!" I said slightly mad at how he did it to see my reaction. I pushed him down onto the grass and looked him in the eyes. "Nobody tricks me and gets away with it!!" I said, flopping on top of him. We were both laughing so hard that tears were coming out. "Can I ask for your permission to kiss you?" I asked him.
"Nope!" He laughed.
"Well too bad!" I pinned him down and kissed him. We lay there in the grass laughing and hugging for the whole morning. By the afternoon, we were both red and dying of laughter.
