It was finally the day, Tommy was smoking outside with Arthur beside him, he was surprisingly nervous, he was smoking to get rid of the nerves, but he was just shaking, tapping his fingers on his leg. "Tommy relax, she's gonna show up." Arthur said to his younger brother. Arthur was a little stunned to see Tommy so nervous, it was kind of terrifying.
Tommy looked at his brother with a certain look in his eyes. "I'm not worried about that; I'm worried about you idiots starting a fight. Imogen's been working hard to have the perfect wedding, and I don't want you fucking idiots to ruin it." He said shaking his head as he dropped the cigarette on the floor and snuffing it with his shoe.
"Ah." Arthur said following his brother into the room where half the boys who knew about the wedding were loudly talking, all of them with a drink in their hand.
"Right, boys, you're all here. Today, this is my fucking wedding day." Tommy started looking over everyone with a glare on his face. "Now for my Lily's sake, nothing will go wrong. Those people out there are her family. And if you fuckers do anything to embarrass her, your kin, your cousins, your horses, your fucking kids, you do anything... No cocaine. No sport. No telling fortunes. No racing. No fucking sucking petrol out of their fucking cars. And you, Charlie, stop spinning yarns about me, eh?" Tommy said looking pointedly at his Uncle.
"I'm just trying to sell you to them, Tom." Charlie said smiling.
Shaking his head Tommy turned back to everyone. "They know me already Charlie. But the main thing is, you bunch of fuckers, no fighting. Oi! No fighting. No fucking fighting. No fighting. No fucking fighting!" He shouted, everyone nodding to him as he threw on his suit jacket getting ready to leave. "Good."
Now it was time to go to the church. Walking outside Tommy looked to his right seeing a familiar face, Atticus waiting for them. The boy had been adopted into the Solace family by Imogen, she loved the young boy dearly, he wasn't sure about Tommy though. "Atticus." Tommy greeted smiling.
"Mister Shelby." Atticus greeted, nodding his head.
Tommy shook his head before wrapping an arm around Atticus's shoulders. "Come on." He said the pair smiling as they went towards the church.
Inside her room, Polly and Ada were trying to help the frazzled Imogen, the young woman was running around trying to find everything she needed, he long sleeved white dress hung on the door waiting for her to put it on. "Oh, my shoes," she whispered as she found them and put them with her dress, before turning a little too quickly and tripped over her own feet. Falling on the floor Polly and Ada giggled, helping the woman up. "Sorry." She said bashfully with a red hue on her cheeks.
"Come on my dear, lets get you dressed." Polly whispered to her; Imogen nodded before standing up. Imogen's dress wasn't like the other women's dresses, it wasn't short as it stretched down to the floor, the skirt itself bellowing out from her waist, with button's running up her back, and a see through lace design was beautifully stitched onto the back. The sleeves were long going to her wrists but opened at the elbow showing her skin. The front bodice was free of any embellishments, she did not care for sparkling jewels on her dress, but the soft lace patterns twisted around the front, giving it some dimension.
Her shoes were simple heels but held a little hints of a blue hue, that being her something blue. Her hair was down allowing it to cascade down her back, sat atop of her head was a crystal headband, that once belonged to Morgan Le Fay. It was her something old. Her earrings were tiny crystals, gifted to her by Marlena and Marcus, those being her something new.
Polly smiled as she handed Imogen a small ring. "This was mine when I was little, I wanted to be a part of the tradition, this can be your something borrowed." The older woman whispered as she slipped the ring onto Imogen's right pinkie.
"Thank you." Imogen whispered.
"You're ready!" Ada cheered, as the three headed downstairs, Imogen's father waiting for them.
Ada and Polly headed out of the store first, making sure no one would be around to see Imogen in her dress. "You look amazing." Marcus whispered to his daughter. He was thankful he was able to see his daughter get married. "Let's get you down that aisle." He whispered as Imogen smiled, taking her father's arm, and walked outside.
Slipping into the car, Imogen, Marcus, Polly, and Ada, talked among each other. Marcus loved the Shelby family, they were such interesting Muggles, he just wanted to learn as much as he could. Polly and Ada were the same, but they were more interested in the wizarding world and learn everything about Imogen's world.
With Tommy, he was now starting to feel the nerves of worry, his eyes would flick up to the clock every time, seeing it getting closer and closer to noon, "Tom, relax, she will be here." John whispered to his brother, placing his hands on his shoulders. "You know her better then anyone here, you know she will be here, because?" John said looking directly into Tommy's eyes.
"Because she loves me, and I love her." Tommy whispered. "Thanks John." Tommy said to his younger brother.
"Mister Shelby." The priest greeted smiling toward the man. "Your bride had arrived." He said not knowing that he had helped take a weight off the young man's shoulders. "Let's get you married."
Tommy smiled and nodded. "Yeah, my Lily, my soon to be wife." He whispered as his brothers came to his side and they waited for the bride's entrance song to begin. Imogen Lillian Solace, soon to be Shelby. His everything.
