"Alright, your mom first."
"Shouldn't I tell Yuna and Ningning first?" I whined.
"Your mom first, SUNNY. She's your mother. And I am sure Yuna and Ningning would support you. Now, you are going to be a mother. Your mother needs to know first," Yu-jin said.
I exhaled and nodded.
I pick up the phone and was still hesitant to dial mom's number.
"It's now or never, Sun," Yu-jin said.
I gulped and nodded. I press mom's number and it rang. While waiting for mom to pick the phone up, I stare at the printed out official and confirmed result of my urine test and blood test.
Positive. I'm pregnant.
"Hey, honey!" Mom greeted me with a cheerful voice.
"Hi, mommy. How are you?" I asked her as I picked up the paper.
"I am doing fine. How about you, darling?" she asked.
"I-I'm fine. Thank you for asking," I smiled thinly.
"What are you doing now? You're busy?" Mom asked.
"I wouldn't be calling you if I'm busy, mom. What about you? Are you busy right now?" I asked her.
"Definitely not. I'm at home. Just finish lunch," she said.
"Oh, how was the food?" I questioned.
"It was really good. What did you had for lunch?" She asked me.
"I just had American breakfast," I replied.
"Oh, alright. Are you okay? You sound quiet and weak," Mom said.
I put my hands over my eyes, "Yeah. I'm fine."
"What is it, honey? What are you not telling me? I can hear it from your voice," Mom said.
My eyes started to tear up and I mumbled, "I'm sorry, mommy. I did something wrong. I did something terribly wrong."
She kept quiet and I broke into tears. I was shaking and scared.
"Hey, honey. You know I love you and I will support you. There's nothing to be scared about. Mommy won't scream or hurt you. I promise. I love you, SUNNY. Tell me what had happened."
"I-I'm pregnant," I told her.
She kept quiet and I took the tissue Yu-jin handed to me. She sat next to me and rubbed my back. I put my phone on the table and turn the speaker on.
"Were you raped?" Mom asked.
"No! No, I wasn't. It was a mistake. I had unprotected sex with Mark and everything started there. I didn't really care about getting pregnant at first but now, I'm scared," I told mom.
"Honey," Mom said. "There's nothing to be scared about. I thought you killed someone just now! Being pregnant is fine, baby. Don't cry. Mommy is not mad at you for being pregnant! I'm here and we'll figure it out!"
I calmed myself down and sniffled.
"Honey, are you alone there?" Mom asked.
"I'm with Yu-jin here," I said and leaned on Yu-jin as she rubs my arms.
"Hi, ma'am. Yu-jin here," Yu-jin greeted mom.
"Hi, Yu-jin! It's great to have you there with SUNNY. Thank you for being there for her." Mom said.
"It's no big deal, ma'am," Yu-jin replied.
"Honey, it's nothing bad about getting pregnant. It's fine. There's always ways to settle things up. Have you talked about this to Mark? Which Mark did you had sex with?" Mom asked.
"NCT Mark," I answered.
"Honey," Mom chuckled. "There's nothing to worry about, Sun. Will he take full responsibility for the baby and you?"
"Yeah. We decide that we'll keep this baby and we'll take care of it. He already told his parents and his parents said that they support our relationship and will support us." I said to mom.
"Then that is good news, Sunny! That is good news and you don't have to worry!" Mom said.
"B-But what about you? What about our family?" I asked her.
Mom chuckled, "There's nothing to worry about. Did you talk to Mark about marriage?"
"I did. We're going to register as husband and wife. Make it legal," I said.
"That's perfect. SUNNY, he's a gentleman just by hearing what he had planned for you two. I'm not mad, SUNNY. If you need anything, just call mom."
"Some more, you're coming home this May. We can spend a lot of time. I can show you places to buy clothes for babies. I can go back to knitting baby clothes. Maybe your baby can wear back what you wore or what Adelia wore when you two were babies," Mom said.
I smiled in relief. I was scared for my life for no absolute reason.
I guess, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be :)
