I grabbed my beige canvas satchel from the footwell of my Mom's SUV and sighed. Your gunna be in for a long summer Quinn. I thought to myself. I opened the passenger seat door and hopped out.
"Quinn, am I not getting a goodbye?" My mother asked as I was about to shut the door.
"Hmm let me think about that. NO! You're letting dad send me off to a summer camp, and he's not even here to say goodbye to me."
"Quinn honey your father is staying at the hospital with Aaron you know, in case something happens."
"Well you guys didn't let me say goodbye to him before I came here. I can't believe you wouldn't let me see my twin brother. It's all dad's fault Aaron's in a coma you know. If he hadn't of been texting his PA, he wouldn't have crashed the car. And then when he finds out his daughter has a smidge of PTSD, he decides to send her off to a summer camp for 'troubled kids' because he doesn't want her at home by herself. I'm seventeen not five!" I shouted before I slammed the car door. I opened the trunk and grabbed by duffle bag.
"No need to be rude Quinn! Your father feels terrible about the accident. He pulled a lot of strings to get you in here." My mom said.
"Yeah. Well I wish he hadn't." I whispered before walking away from the car and towards the sign that said Lakeside summer camp: RegistrationAfter I had gotten my welcome pack, which include a map, a cabin key and some other useless items, I decided to head towards my cabin. The annoyingly perky registration girl had said that in each cabin there were two bedrooms and each room had two campers in it. She told me that I was sharing a cabin with Callie Wright, Mary Stevens and Baylee Richards, who were regular campers and were apparently, and I quote "Darlings".
Quinn O'Conner, I said to myself, you are in for the worst summer of your life.
