Sam
"Jin, where's Bambi?" I entered Jin's house and looked for her son. Today is his 5th birthday and I managed to carry all my gifts for him.
"Sam?! Ano na naman ito?!" she stopped chopping the carrots and faced me.
"Simple gift?" I answered and smiled awkwardly.
I was shocked when she took a carrot and pointed it on me. "Samantha Eleanor, sinasabi ko sayo, ayokong lumaking maluho ang anak ko. Please lang huwag mo syang iispoil."
"Chill, Mama Jin. Birthday nya naman ngayon ah? No issue." I walked out of the kitchen and heard her shout, "KAHIT HINDI NYA BIRTHDAY GANYAN KARAMI ANG DALA MO. SASAKSAKIN KITA MAKITA MO."
"Scary." I laughed and run upstairs to go to Bambi's room.
I opened the door and saw him with his babysitter, "Hey there, Angel.. "
"Tita Sam!!" he ran towards me and hugged me.
I love his doe eyes the most. He's very gentle and soft. I just know I'd spend every money I have to spoil this baby.
"Happy birthday, Baby. Tita Sam loves you. Can Tita Sam give a kiss?" I said while he's now amazed on how big and many the paperbags I am holding now are.
"Yes po. Thank you, Tita Sam. Bambi loves you more." then i gave him a kiss.
It took us almost an hour to finally open and explore the gifts i bought for him. I couldn't count how many thank yous and i love yous i received.
"Any plans, Madam?" sabay kaming napatingin sa pinto ni Bambi nang sumulpot ang mama nya na nakapamewang habang may suot na apron at hawak na sandok.
"Ito na po.." I stood up and said a short goodbye to the busy Bambi.
"Akala ko ba tutulungan mo ako magluto? Tumambay ka nalang sa kwarto ng anak ko maghapon e." sermon sa akin ni Jin habang pababa kami ng hagdan.
"Napakaselosa mo naman. Gusto mo sayo lang lahat ng oras ko?" I joked.
"Yuck ka."
We cooked carbonara and baked mac then ordered donuts and pizza for a simple celebration for Bambi's birthday.
"I told you dapat kumain nalang tayo sa labas." I told her while I was wiping her forehead because of the sweat.
"Tapos ano? Ikaw na naman ang mag-iinsist na magbayad? Hell no."
"Wow ha? Parang hindi ka nagpapalibre sa akin lagi noon?" I said while now fixing the arrangement of the food in the table.
"Syempre iba na ngayon." she answered.
"Oh." I gave Jin a glass of wine. We just finished cleaning everything after the celebration. Bambi's already sleeping and we are at the terrace.
"Thank you." she whispered. I can really feel how low she's feeling right now. No matter how hard she tries to cover up with a smile for his son, he can't deceive me.
"You're welcome." I sat beside her then took a sip from my own glass.
"No, not for this wine."
I looked at her confused while she's just looking at her wine.
"For everything, Sam." she looked at me then smiled.
"Hindi ko yata kakayanin kung wala ka rito." she continued.
I smiled while looking at her and only listening. At times like this, i know she only need someone to listen.
I headed to the guest's room after we talked about a lot of stuff. I lied my back as soon as I reached the bed then stared at the ceiling.
