"You'll have a great time, I promise! Use this a little way to promote your new restaurant!" Saoirse told you as she helped you zip the back of your dress up. "I'm going to support you!" you smiled. Saoirse and you have been friends for countless years, you used to work at celebrity parties just like this one, handing out food samples, offering drinks as you made your way through the crowded room of stars. This time was different, you are a guest. You don't have to worry about giving your best customer service skills. You simply got to be yourself.

"And I love you for that" Saoirse smiled back at you, "promise me you'll try to avoid helping the workers though, you need a night off!" she added. You'd just opened your restaurant about 6 months ago, you're a full workaholic, this was your first night off to enjoy life and not worried about making sure things were perfect. "I promise" you replied.

You took a glass of champagne and thanked the waitress who offered it to you. Taking and smiling at many different people while fighting the urge to call your head supervisor who was in for a busy night at your restaurant. "I'm so sorry!!" you heard a British accent pull you from your thoughts. Noticing she had bumped into you, spilling your drink a little over your dress. "Here let me clean that up for you oh my god!" she added, grabbing a napkin from the bar. She came back to you and patted the wet spot on your dress. "It's okay, it's just a dress" you smiled as she tried to clean something that was going to dry within 20 minutes.

"I'm Florence" she smiled at you. Her eyes sparkled in the light of the bar. Her scent was strong but sweet, her smile felt welcoming and warm. "I'm y/n" you shook her hand, her skin was soft and comforting. "It's lovely to meet you, forgive me for asking but I don't think I've seen anything you're in?" letting go of your hand, still smiling. "Actually, Uhm, I'm not an actress" you playfully put on a disappointed look on your face. "Well then, Y/n what is it that you do?" she asked forcing her British accent to be thicker, you both chuckled. "I just opened my own restaurant 6 months ago". Florence's face lit up, "That's awesome! Would I have heard it before?", "maybe...Uhm, called Masons. After my dog actually" you laughed trying to hide the embarrassment. "Oh, I have heard of that! You named a restaurant after your dog?" you nodded at her question, "I did, He would sit at my feet whenever I was cooking or eating, and he was the only one who would eat my Salisbury chicken" you smiled, getting lost in Florence's presence. "That's actually the coolest thing I've ever heard, I'd love to stop by sometime!", "The doors are always open".

You and Florence spoke for hours, forgetting you were even at a party until the music started getting louder. Looking at the time, 11:12 pm, "Do you wanna go somewhere quieter?" you asked her. She nodded, grabbing your clutch bags before exiting the party. "Why acting?" you asked her as you both walked the street, "well, I was never good at maths and other subjects, I loved drama class and music, so I just put my all into that and here I am" she explained. You guys walked a few blocks before you arrived at your closed restaurant. "Well, that was sneaky" she smirked, "what is?" you asked sarcastically while unlocking the doors. "I don't know about you but I'm freaking hungry" you added, opening the door for her to enter first. Flicking the lights on in the kitchen grabbing a pan and lighting the stove.

"You move fast, already cooking for me like this is a little date" she looked you up and down biting her bottom lip. "Who said this was a date?" you noticed her eyes stopped at your lips, she took a step closer to you her eyes now connected to yours. "Why'd you bring me here?" she asked softly it was almost a whisper. "To get you alone" you replied, she stepped closer again, "Am I reading this wrong?" she slowly placed her hands in yours. "No" you whispered as you felt her intertwine her fingers with yours, leaning in closer to you, "Can I?" her whisper was so soft you barely heard her. "Yes," you nodded.

Her soft lips pressed against yours gently as you both closed your eyes sharing a deep kiss. She pulled away biting her bottom lip again as she smiled. You let go of her hands and pulled her closer to you again by her waist, kissing her once more. "Can you make me some...some of that chicken you mentioned?" her cheeks flashing with a rosie colour. You read between the lines; she didn't want to leave. "I'd love to".
