(22-1-1)

It was a boring, same old Tuesday evening in January. Usually I don't care for the cold, but today I strangely enjoyed it. Minnesota winter is always very tough to go through, unless you're acclimated to it.

The sky a soft grey, and the snow a painfully blinding white.

It was cozy.

Staring at the walls in my living room, I had the best idea.

I put my coat, boots and gloves on and walked outside to the shed.

I opened the old creaky door of my parents shed and walked in, the familiar smell of must and old things filling my nostrils.

I looked around for a second and saw something being covered up by a tarp . I pulled the tarp off and found a dusty storage bin. I opened it and marveled at what I found.

"Mom's old records!" I thought to myself immediately digging through them. "Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Blind Melon, Rage Against The Machine.." I kept looking through them until I found one band in particular.

"Nirvana!!" I thought As soon as I spotted Bleach. And then I found, Nevermind, Incesticide and In Utero.

Nirvana was my favorite band at the time. I've always had a fascination of that band, especially the lead singer.

Kurt Cobain... Where do I start.

I've always found myself reading way to into him. His childhood, his struggles with fame, his death; that is what always sent me down rabbit holes of media on the internet.

I was so happy that I found my mom's vinyls, but kinda pissed she never told me she had them. Which I was surprised about because she knows I'm obsessed with them.

I grabbed the Nirvana vinyls and put everything else back exactly where it originally was. I exited the shed and made my way back inside.

I went in my room and turned my Christmas lights on that perfectly illuminated my space. I dusted the copy of Bleach  and put it on my record player.

The first song on the record "blew" started and I cranked it up to full volume.

I sat on my bed scrolling through Pinterest as Bleach echoed through my whole house, pissing off my sister downstairs. Thank God my parents weren't home, because if they were I would be dead.

As soon as Bleach ended I got up and plopped In Utero on my record player.
Now it being 10:00  I turned it down so it was at a comfortable volume. As soon as "Dumb" started to play I felt really sleepy.

I saw images flash through my head, a guitar, half painted canvas with intricate limbs sprawled about, a pair of beaten up and drawn on Converse. The most predominant imagine of all, a pair of deep blue eyes staring right into my soul from what felt like another relm.

I opened my eyes in a cold sweat. I let myself relax again and I completely slipped into sleep.. or what I thought was sleep.

To be continued.
