I was huddled in our usual spot in the lunchroom. I came here as soon as possible considering the fact that every class was absolutely miserable and pointless. I look down at my floppy sandwich. Bread, turkey, and mayo. Also pretty sure the mayo has expired since the smell is very unpleasant.
I grunt and throw the sandwich from my seat hoping it will land in the nearest garbage can. Thankfully, it does. By the time I snap back to reality and not worry about my lame sandwich issues, I notice Ally is strutting herself down to where I'm sitting, with my other two best friends, Kendall and Mia. When they finally arrive, I feel the bench shift as Ally takes a seat down next to me, with her eyes settled on me. She looks like she tasted something sour.
"May I help you? Or do you want to just stare? If so, enjoy the view," I say, giving a fake smile. She smiles wide, and moves her hand to my shoulder. I flinch again, and try to move backwards but I'm already leaning against the wall.
"No, I'm not going to enjoy the view. How could I enjoy the view of a girl with a nice, immense knot on the right side of her head, or enjoy the view of these cold eyes of hers. If anything, I'm terrified. It's like engaging with a monster." She takes her hand off my shoulder, and I try my best to not show I care. Though I think I do by my face burning up. There's one side of me that is ready to strangle her, and spit at her with words that will make her huddle up and cry, but then there's the other side of me that knows she is right. How could anyone enjoy the view?
I breathe in, and let the words fall out of my mouth.
"You're right. Nobody could enjoy the view. So why don't you save yourself the time and go sit somewhere else. Maybe while you are at it you can go find yourself a new boyfriend to fuck around with." I can see out of the corner of my eye that Mia and Kendall are stunned. They both are making eye contact with each other, like they never heard a curse word before.
It takes Ally a minute to answer, and she just answers with a simple "okay", with a hurt tone. I turn back to Kendall and Mia, expecting them to follow her.
"C'mon already! Spit the words out. Maybe I will break the record of loosing the most friends in a matter of five minutes." They look at each other again, and nod. The silence is killing me. Them not speaking is driving me insane the most. I feel like a bomb and I'm about to explode. Soon enough, I can't take it, and I simply get up and leave.
I go back out to my locker and grab my phone and bag. Then being the impulsive person I am, I push the doors open and leave all the people who I once kept so close to me, away.
