CRUSHED HEART

Ran into a crush of mine today
she smiled in my direction and kept on moving her way
I glaze upon her as she passed
Knowing she doesn't see me in her future
Left being a memory of her past

I flashback to when we were in class
Her beauty made her a girl of the upper class
And impressing her was like walking on broken glass
Like alcohol every boy chase her
Which dent my chances of being with her

Academically I stood out
Still that didn't work out
Moments I would steal a glance
Smile and let her catch me in a trance
Memorized by her brown coloured eyes
Hypnotized with a stomach full of butterflies

In Avoiding tripping over my words and  seemed like a joke
I just passed her a note
My heart got crushed when I read what she wrote
And all I could have done was to take note

I stop chasing her
Which led to more dreams bout her
See her face
The more I try to stop thinking bout her
Her name was too common
I heard it on every corner
She moving away didn't make it easier
And yes.....I cried over her

Gotten used to her not being around
I felt my feeling fell down
That was till I saw her again
Then realizing My feelings started resurfacing
My heart started beating fast
  My skin started sweating
Hoping  she walked my way and started a conversation
Fear of making the first move
Cos if it goes wrong
I know I won't take a second

Consumed by fear I hid in plain sight
Watch as she been done wrong thinking it's probably right
Wanting to make my marked
Yet I get stage fright
and I don't perform
Or performance ain't no where near bright

I see her on a higher level
That makes me want to level up
Yet the higher I go
The higher put her
Leaving myself to play catch up

I know when she smiled at me
It's just out of courtesy
Just being polite
So to my head I don't let it take flight
Keep my emotions grounded
Then keep them bounded

She moves on with her life
And I'm on with mine
Ain't no telling me where it will lead
But everything becomes clearer with time
