Madeline steps out of the car and gives Carlos a hug. "Thank you for dropping me off, you better get to your meeting before they replace your seat with Schumacher" Carlos eyes widens. "They wouldn't dare" he winks as he watches Lando follow suit out of the car. "See ya! and thanks!" he closes the door behind him, they both watch him drive off.
There is a brittle moment of silence between them, that slight nerves and awkwardness that school kids get when they know that they like the person that they are stood next to, yet are too scared and naïve it to admit it.
"You said you were hungry" Lando is the first to break the silence. Madeline gasps in a little bit of air thankful that it was him. "Yes, I was going to grab something from the hotel. I have a lot of work I need to get done, and my team to speak to, to get everything ready, now I know Gummy Bears" Madeline smiles gently. She knows that maybe this was not the answer that Lando was wanting from her, but it was honest. Kam was on the phone to her at the hospital first of all worried, but majority because they need to get some socials out on Lando. "I also have some great shots of you, I will send the best ones for you to approve before I post anything on your social" Lando nods his head. He was hoping that she would eat with him, it has been awhile since he has eaten with somebody that isn't a formula one driver, or his family. "Yeah, sure sounds good" Lando begins to walk off. Madeline could instantly tell from his reaction, that was not what he wanted to hear. "I mean, unless there is a better way you want to approach this social media scenario?" Madelines enquires, hoping it is linked to that in some way. "No. It works. I think I am going to go up." Lando begins to walk off. Madeline was taken aback by his switch of emotions. One minute he is on the hospital bed beside himself, and apologetic thought it was not his fault, and then the next he is cold, and doesn't seem to want to be responsive. Madelines words get stuck in her throat, as she doesn't know what to say.
But by that point it was too late. Lando was in through the Hotel doors, leaving Madeline stood outside, not knowing what to do with herself.
