(Author's Note):
Heyy! Alright so I don't own any of the Harry Potter Series or J.K. Rowling's creations and characters. I only added a few of mine to the story.. Hehe

Okay, this is my first Severus Snape Fanfiction so don't judge. I've been studying my Harry Potter facts (Quidditch has this long rule list just to let you know) and if I do something wrong or accidentally tweak it, don't be shy to tell me. It's more embarrassing for me then for you :P Anyway, Enjoy!
------------------

"Shhhhhhhh! Someone might catch us!" I whispered loudly to Ella, my best friend, who was giggling about something to Cade, my other best friend. Who would think a great-mannered, well-behaved, young witch like me would have two troublemakers as best friend. Ella was a pureblood witch with bright blue eyes and long, straight blond hair. She has a character. Man, I wouldn't get in her face. She was my best friend since first year. But Ella didn't ace her grades, she only passed with Acceptable.

Cade was also a pureblood, but he was more of a mix between Ella and I. He had great grades, but also had a character of his own. He has short chestnut brown hair with light brown eyes. Cade was one of those guys who could melt a girl's heart with his smile.

Then there's me, yes I did ace all my classes, but I could defend myself and my friend with some kickass replies. I have long wavy dark brown hair with cool-looking hazel/green eyes. I wasn't pure blood though, well actually I don't know because my dad adopted me and we just found out that I was a witch when I blew up a vase at the age of eight. My father was also a wizard, a good wizard indeed. He was in the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. I didn't see him much but when I did, he would always we sweet even though he worked all day with long troubling hours.

"Why? You having second thought Miss Goody Kenzie?" Cade said mockingly, taking me out of my thoughts. This is what got us here in the first place. After classes, we went to the library to do homework. Cade called me a Goody again since I was doing homework that I had due at the end of the week. It wasn't a big deal so I dropped my homework and we decided on hanging out instead, that's when Ella got the brilliant idea, and please note the sarcasm, to go wander off in the Forbidden Forest after curfew.

"Of course! But I'm sure Kenzie is too chicken.." Cade had said, rising up a challenge.

"Sure, I'd love to come, how 'bout we play hide and seek too?" I had mocked. But Ella took it serious and said it was a "Marvellous Idea". Good Lord help those two.

Coming back to the present, we walked out the castle and towards the forest. As we passed the Whomping Willow, Cade eyed it mysteriously and took his dark wood wand out of his robe and pointed it at the tree.

"Avis," He said, and birds flew out of the tip of his want, blasting into the Whomping Willow's side. The tree went mad, that's all I can say. Ella shrieked, grabbing hold to me as Cade laughed.

"It looks like that kid, Ron Weasley, when a spider crawled on his head in second year!" Cade said and Ella doubled over with laughter. I had to stifle a giggle at that. I remember back two years ago when a kid from Slytherin, probably Draco, put a spider on his back and it had crept up to his head. Ron had went white as a ghost and then he had started beating his arms around his head. Thinking of it now, it did resemble the Whomping Willow.

"Poor guy, but I have to admit it does really remind me of him!" I burst out laughing. After a few minutes when the tree settled down, we passed it making sure to be a safe distance away from the tree and walked closer to the forest.

"It's so scary.." Ella whispered. A breeze blew around us, sending goosebumps on my arms. It was cool for a September night, but with fall getting closer I guess it was just normal for it to be that way.

"Aw, man up." Cade said warily, looking deep in thought.

"It's not too late to change your mind, scaredy-cat" I snickered, receiving a playful glare from Cade. He shook his head and walked in.

"You guys coming?" He challenged glancing back at us. I nodded and marched into the forest, with Ella close by me. Owls hooted, and crickets chirped. It was really creepy, if you wanted to know. But nevertheless, it was a beautiful night, the moon had a stunning crescent shape, like in the DreamWorks logo. Wizards wouldn't have a clue what I just said, but since I was raised in the Muggle World I knew all this stuff.

The forest's floor was covered with dried leaves and branches, making our every step crunch under our feet. When we were far in the forest, Cade stopped and turned to us.

"So who's seeking?" He smirked. Ella and I looked at each other.
"It was your idea, Zie, you seek." She said. I sighed and nodded.
"Alright, as long as you guys don't go off too far.. I don't want to be looking for you guys all night just to find you dead or something." That thought made my hairs on the my back of my neck stand on end. The two didn't looked as scared as I did, and they nodded, telling me to count to fifty.

I turned and walked up to a nearby tree, sticking my face on the bark and covering my eyes. I started off, one, two, three, four...... Fifty. I turned around, letting my eyes roam around. I stood in silence for a few seconds, listening for a sound of someone moving. I heard rustling from a far away and I quickly marched in that direction, hoping it wasn't some scary, young girl eating creature on the other side. I slithered my way around trees and weird-angled branches. I saw a dark apparition several meters in front of me. Cade. It had to be, it was around his size, tall and skinny-looking. I don't think he saw me yet..

I burst into a sprint, running straight for Cade. When I was only a meter from him, he turned around slightly and I tackled him, bringing him to the ground. "Aha! Caught you!" I yelled in victory, all pumped up. Cade usually was good at hiding, guess not.. Sucker!

"Oof." A deep velvety voice, and certainly not Cade's, said. I quickly got up, looking for a face on the man who I tackled. Man, that guy must think I'm crazy.. He got up and looked at me. I recognized him. Oh shoot.

"Miss Woodlands." He snapped, brushing his hair out of his face, "What in the world are you doing in the Forbidden Forest after curfew?" He said his voice filled with rage.

"Professor Snape.. umm.." I had trouble finding words as I looked around for a possible excuse, a howler from Dad would be less scary then this situation; I was definitely doomed.

"Detention. All week, you should know better, you insolent girl. You'll just have to answer me during that time. Come, we're going to the headmaster's. He won't be happy about this at all." He started off in a brisk pace towards, I think, the castle. I had to jog to catch up to him.

Let's just hope Ella and Cade don't stay here all night waiting for me to find them, but honestly I couldn't care less right now, all I wanted was my fluffy, black cat Luna in my arms and a warm blanket around me safely. God knows what would happen to me after this, I knew it was a bad idea..
