It was the best time of my life

Chapter 7

Cute guy skates it seems. I watch him as he skilfully heads off down the path. I'm not working today so I plan on trying to meet this Toni I'm sharing a flat with. I left her a coffee earlier, like I did yesterday morning and I haven't been gone long enough to miss her this time, surely.
It seems I have. I sigh before smiling. It is quite amusing in a bizarre way. I go into my room and finish putting away all the clothes I bought yesterday and the rest of the stuff I brought with me that I hadn't actually unpacked yet. I could do with getting myself a guitar. I left mine at home because of the weight of it and not wanting it getting damaged on the journey. I grab my keys and head for work to buy one there. I've seen a particularly cool one and it's an Ibanez so a really good make.
Ok, I forgot how heavy these things are. The amp more so. I sigh as I lug them along. I feel a pair of hands taking the amp out of mine and after a second of panic, see cute guy carrying it for me.
"Wait for me" I say, laughter coming out with it. He pauses for me to catch up to him, the guitar still in my hands.
"My hero" I whisper, smiling at him. He smiles back at me, a slight blush on his face and my stomach actually flips over. I didn't know it could do that but he just made it do that which makes me giggle again. We are side by side the last part of our walk back and although he doesn't say anything, I'm enjoying being in his company. He hands the guitar back to me and I take it inside.
"Do you want to come up?" I offer, but he mumbles something about needing to go to the library. I nod, realising I should probably do that at some point too. I smile goodbye and carry my beautiful new toy up the stairs.
I plug the amp in and start strumming the intro for Wake Me Up When September Ends. It's one of the songs I learned first and I just love going back to it. I'm sitting on my bed so I don't disturb Toni if she comes back but I'm listening for the door just incase.
I must have dozed off because the door banging shut just woke me up. Which means Toni has been in and out again I just missed her. Again. I laugh at how ridiculous the situation is. I wander through into the lounge and peer out of the window. I see cute guy walking off and smile to myself. I really want to get to know him better but he's so shy. Anyway, I need food so I head for the cafeteria.
