"Please Calum, come to the party with me." I beg my best friend. I love a good party, but he's always more hesitant to go to them. I put on the best puppy dog face I can muster, knowing he can never resist my big, brown eyes and pouty lips.

"Fine Sam, only for you." He responds, crossing his arms over his chest. I let out a little squeal and give him a quick hug.

"Thank you, thank you!" I say, ecstatic that he's agreed. Since it's my senior year, I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible. And for me, 'enjoyment' is equivalent to parties and cute boys. Don't get me wrong school is important too, but I like to live it up when I can.

"But only on one condition..." Calum trails off, which leaves me somewhat worried.

"And what condition would that be?" I ask him, raising an eyebrow.

"I get to pick your outfit." Ugh, I groan, exasperated. I know Calum, and I know he'll pick something that I would never normally wear. I don't even respond to him, I just point to my closet and fall back onto my bed, hoping for the best. For a few minutes, all I hear is him rustling around, taking different things off hangers and most likely not putting them back on.

"Ta da!" I slowly sit up from my lying position and open my eyes to see a smiling Calum with his hands behind his back. He holds out the tightest, blackest dress that I own. It's long sleeved and not too short, but tight enough that it'll still be party appropriate.

"Huh, nice choice Cal. I'm pleasantly surprised. Just let me go change." With that, he tosses me the dress and I head into the bathroom. It only takes me a minute to change and without giving myself a second glance in the mirror, I'm back in the bedroom. I rummage through my vanity, searching for my favourite makeup pairing, liquid eyeliner and mascara. Once I find them, I look up, only to see Calum staring at me.

"Um, can I help you?" I ask, cocking my head to the side.

"Sam, you look hot. Like Arctic Monkeys song kind of hot." He responds, eyes wide. I turn back to the vanity and look at myself in the mirror, taking in my appearance.

"I do like pretty good, don't I" I say, smiling to myself. Calum just nods in response, making me laugh.

"Just let me put on some makeup, then we can run to your house so you can change, okay?" I ask, which only earns another nod from Calum. Oh, boys. I quickly apply some eye makeup and red lip stick. With one last look, I ruffle my shoulder length hair which is still wavy from the day before, and we're out the door.

Fortunately, Calum is my next door neighbour so it only takes him a moment to change form his sweatpants and hoodie into a pair of black skinnies and plain black tee.

"Wow, look at us. All black everything." I say as he shuts the door to his house.

"Always, black is everything." He says as we make our way down the street. Lucky for us, the party is only a few blocks away so we're in good walking distance.

Before we even get to the house, I can hear the music echoing loudly down the road. Shortly after that, the house comes into view, packed with teenagers.

"I think we're in the right place." Calum says looking at me. Once we get inside, he's already being waved over by his soccer friends, leaving me to fend for myself. I decide the best place for me for now is on the stairs, where I can see the basically the entire bottom floor. So, there I am, leaning nonchalantly against the wall, taking in the cliche scene. That is, until one of my favourite songs come on. Earned it by The Weeknd was blasting through the speakers. Now, usually I'm not one for pop/ r & b songs, but I can't help but want to move my hips to this song. So that's what I do. I push my way through the sweaty bodies of my peers to the 'dance floor' which is really just the living room that's been cured of all it's furniture. I'm dancing and singing along to the song, lost in my own world to be completely honest, just feeling the music. But I'm quickly brought back to reality when I make eye contact with him, Luke Hemmings. Every high school has a typical bad boy right? Well ours is Luke. And currently, he won't take his eyes off of me, I don't mean to sound cocky but it's true. I think tonight, I'm going to play his game. I stare right back, it's not really that hard. With his intense blue eyes, broad build and smirk, he is quite the eye candy. Before I know it, he's walking towards me.
