Michael tried on at least three different outfits before finally ending up with an all black one. There was no reason for him to be this nervous. This wasn't a date, right? Maybe he should have clarified with Laur, but it was too late for that.

"Dude, are you nervous?" Calum asked Michael, with a teasing expression.

"No, I. I just don't know what to expect." Calum gave Michael a knowing look, obviously not buying his bullshit of an excuse.

"Mate, you know it's okay to be nervous right, I mean I have seen this chick and she was fucking hot. I'd be nervous too"

Michael gave Calum a side-eye, obviously not comforted by his words.

"Back off, I saw her first mate." Michael said, rolling his eyes.

"Her friend though, you can have. Totally your type : arrogant, big ego and a bitch too"

"Ha ha ha, real funny mikey," Calum responded, not amused by his friends' jokes, "Honestly I date one bad apple and all of a sudden I only like mean women."

"One bad apple? Dude, you have a bad track record. Admit it." Mike teased.

"Oh fuck off, as if you've never dated crappy people. Does 'You Suck' remind you of anything?" Calum shot back.

"Oh come on, it was one date. Barely even one actually." Mike grumbled, setting to shoot another insult Calums way but was interrupted by the sound of someone knocking on their door.

"This conversation isn't over, you know." Calum called after Michael.

"Cal shut the fuck up"

"Yeah Cal, shut the fuck up." Shay said as soon as the door opened, with a bright smile on her face.

"You know what, maybe I do like you, actually." Michael responded.

"Can't say the same." Calum said while rolling his eyes. Shay just smiled at him, obviously not bothered by his opinion.

"Okay, so. Hi, Calum. I'm Laur, it's nice to meet you." Laur reached for his hand, Cal engulfed her in a bone crushing hug.

"So you're the girl Mike won't shut up about? Wow Mike, she really is cute." Calum said, trying to provoke Michael.

"Are you lovely ladies ready to go bowling?" Asked Mike.

Laur smiled at Mike and a blush rose upon his face

They all piled into Shay's bright pink Jeep Wrangler.

"Cute car." Cal said as he laughed

"Fuck off you ass, don't insult her." Shay sneered at the tall boy. Laur and Mike rolled their eyes at the bickering pair. This was going to be a long night if they would keep going back and forth like this.

Laur sat in the back with Calum and Michael sat up front with Shay. Michael was kind of bummed about the seating arrangement, as he obviously wanted to sit next to Laur but he also did not want to hear Shay and Calum argue the entire time. The whole ride he would glance back and look at Laur. He hoped that she would pay attention to him but she was too engaged in conversation with Calum to notice his attempts. Michael sighed and turned his attention back to the annoyed driver, Shay gave the boy a sympathetic look, knowing what he was upset about.

"I hate stop signs." Mike spoke.

"I never stop at stop signs." Joked Shay.

"Some people see red as a warning but all I see is a sign that says keep going." replied Michael.

"Kind of like me, red is my favorite color which means it must mean something positive." The boy laughed at her remark and the two continued to joke the rest of the drive.
