riki fluttered his eyes open to the sound of two people's mumbled voices that were coming from behind the door.
he looked around the room he was in.
it looked like a hospital room.

he was about to get up from the bed before he could hear someone opening the door, which made him fall back on the bed and pretend to be asleep.
he wasn't ready to face the girl after all that had happened.

miki closed the door behind her before making her way towards the resting boy.
the guilt and worry were unbearable for her as she looked at the boy lying on the hospital bed.

"i'm so sorry, riki.
i should've never doubted you"
miki said as she broke down into tears while staring at the boy's state.

riki could feel his heart breaking at the sound of the girl's painful cries.
but he couldn't bring himself to open his eyes yet.

"i don't hate you.
how could i ever hate you?
you're one of the best things that has happened to me in such a long time"
miki continued her speech as she thought the boy was still unconscious.

riki was fighting all the urges not to get up and embrace the sobbing girl in his arms.
it was painful for him to hear her so hurt and vulnerable because of him.

miki took a deep breath as she was preparing herself to let out all of the feelings she had kept from the boy.
he wouldn't hear her anyway so why not ease her mind.

"you've made me feel feelings i didn't even know i was capable of feeling.
i'm scared, riki.
i don't want to lose you"

riki couldn't control himself anymore as he opened his eyes to look at the girl before speaking up.

"what kinds of feelings, miki?"

miki was startled by the boy's sudden voice.
she quickly got up while wiping her tears away to look at the boy.
she reached her hand to hold his cheek to check on him.

"you're awake!
are you feeling ok-"

miki couldn't finish her sentence as she was interrupted by riki sitting up before placing his hand on the hand that was holding his cheek.

"what kinds of feelings?"
riki asked again as he stared deeply into the girl's widened eyes.

miki only stared back at the boy's eyes, unable to speak.
the close proximity of their faces didn't ease her growing nervousness.
she opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.

suddenly riki reached out his hand to caress the girl's cheek before gently placing his lips on hers.

miki was taken aback as her eyes grew wide.
after a short while she closed her eyes before responding to the boy's kiss.

the two pulled away, before riki spoke up while smiling at the girl.

"you've made me feel those kinds of feelings too, miki"

miki's cheeks were burning as she couldn't look into the boy's eyes.
she lifted her head slowly only to be met with his sweet smile.

her mind was a mess as she stared into his loving eyes.
so this is how it feels like.
slowly a smile made its way to her lips as she let out a nervous laugh.

"uhh, i'll get the nurse to check up on you!"
with that miki ran out of the room leaving the boy to smile at the girl's flustered state.
