HARD TIMES

My skin beat, purple all over my skin. My eyes were red and puffy filled with water like the oceans I cried. Neverending tears were rolling down my cheeks. Why must he do this to me? Where is she when I need her...

They told me I couldn't fall in love with someone who isn't real. in the beginning, I thought the same. I didn't believe it was real till I saw it in front of me. they call them monsters but the real monsters are my parents. For they are the true evil that brings pain and fear to this world.  

Hi I'm Maya and I'm 16 years old I live in a small town called cipcity and I'm not your typical high schooler. I fell in love with a monster. Not the ones you hear about in stories. The ones only certain people can imagine such as myself. I never believed in these monsters unit she appeared in my life. Since I met her my life has been so much better and I've suffered less. Now my job here is to tell you about my life and the tragic but amazing events that happened ever since I was 14 years old.

Outside of my house, I was everyone's favorite people loved me. Adults kids teens everyone. That's always been my gift. Outside of my house, the boys adore me. I was always known as the pretty smart girl. I was an honor roll student and president of the school board. My life seemed so perfect to other people but what could they possibly know about what's on the inside. What they don't see is what goes on at home. 

My dad is an alcoholic and abuses me. sometimes when he's not too angry hell just leave me black and blue but when he's very angry hell punishes me in the worst way imaginable, torture. My mom had the chance to get away when I was 14 and she promised to come back for me but 2 years have passed and she hasn't come back. 

"MAYA GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE NOW", says Maya's dad. That's my dad he's probably angry because he was fired again. Now he's calling me so he can take it out on me once again. "I'M COMING FATHER".

"Didn't I tell u to take out the damn trash"

"yes I'm sorry it's just I got home late since I was testing today and I fell asleep because I'm so tired"

"tired that's bullshit you do nothing all day and u expect me to believe your tired "

"yes I do"

"What did u just say to me young lady did u just answer back to me. must I teach u the rules again?"

"no father"

let's talk about the rules my dad has made. don't speak unless spoken to, say thank you after every punishment, never say no, don't talk back, if I tell anyone anything he will kill me, and don't ask for food or water you get it yourself if your good.

If I fail to abide by these rules punishments include whipping, kicking, hitting, starvation, cutting, and torture.

"Father please punish me for I have answered back and failed to follow your rules," I say as tears roll down my face once again. Knowing what will happen. He's going to hit me I already know it. He will leave my skin beat once again. Till my body is completely purple.

If you're wondering how no one notices outside of my home its because he makes me cover it up with foundation
