(By the way, this first part is basically the prologue)
Man, this was the life. Percy thought to himself. No problems with Gods or Monsters, just chilling here with Annabeth.
"Whatcha thinking about seaweed brain?" Annabeth asked him from the comfort of his lap.
Percy smiled. "Just all of this. There's no threat of dying in New Rome, or at least not a big one, no gods no monsters, just you and me."
"Yeah. The view is pretty nice here too."
Percy stared at the ocean from where Annabeth and him where sitting on the cliff. "I thought you would like it." He told her.
"Man I'm tired, College is hard." Annabeth said, leaning on Percy and closing her eyes.
Percy laughed. "Maybe if you didn't try and take all your classes in one year, you wouldn't be wiped."
Annabeth yawned. "Still have straight A's. Worth it." They both laughed.
"Aw you guys are so cute, to bad I got to kill you." The voice came from behind them.
Percy and Annabeth spun around, quickly getting to their feet and drawing their weapons to see a man, about the same age as Percy, standing there. He had an Imperial Gold sword and armour set, his short blond hair blew in the wind and his blue eyed seemed to stare right into them. Behind the man was what really scared Percy, there was an army. About eighty to a hundred demigods and monsters, all with weapons drawn. Percy knew he and Annabeth couldn't take them all. He also knew no one was coming to help. He had made sure of that, what had seemed as a genius idea of asking Hazel to keep everyone away no seemed like the stupidest move ever.
"Who are you?" Annabeth asked. She quickly glanced over to Percy trying to tell him something.
She was buying time. Percy needed to come up with a plan. But what could he do to keep her alive?. Percy looked around, trying to find an escape route. Every direction was blocked off. Except behind them. The cliff over the Ocean. Percy knew what he had to do.
"I really don't see how that matters." The man said.
Father, Percy thought. Save her. He took a step forward. "You clearly don't know who I am, I've killed Titans and Giants, and if you think you can intimidate me with a bunch of demigods and minor league monsters, you're wrong!" I yelled.
Annabeth takes a step forward. "Who WE are." She corrects.
"No, sorry Annabeth." And I push her off the cliff.
"Percy!" She yells out before splashing into the water. I could feel the current whisk her away to safety, safe and sound. I then lunged at the man who wanted to kill us, crossing swords, he was a good, but I was better, and I was pushing him back. Until of course, the army behind him regained their senses and attacked me. Arrows hit me from every direction, I was stumbling back from pain, on the verge of passing out, I look back to the man who lead them all here, to see him slashing his sword at my facing. He connected the blow, and I blacked out.
