*As The Star Watches*

Bright light in the sky,
Way up so very high.
You gleam so bright,
In the Prussian blue night.

But a small child wonders,
Why you have never show any blunders.
As he sighs at your light,
Not as beautiful and bright.

Another child sits under your watchful gaze,
Her hopes and dreams ablaze.
She cries out and sobs to you,
But you don't know what to do.

So you just hang in the open air,
Feeling like no one cares.
No one knows you are already dead,
No one knows that you have so much dread.

You are just a burning ball of light,
You never stop your fight.
As people stare at you with emotion,
You do not know what is all this commotion.

For the beautiful blue and green is now black,
A burning ball of lack.
The lack of beauty,
Is also lacking all its duty.

To inhabit that planet is suicide,
And that planet will never be unified.
For that planet is earth,
And it is gone because of our girth.

Us humans are so naive,
We would never believe.
What it's like to be a star,
Oh how you are so very far.

Earth is now dead,
We have come and fled.
To Mars we presume,
To try to resume.

All we will do is destroy,
Oh why did God our father make us so coy.
We are killing planets one by one,
Soon to the stars and on and on.

When we have nowhere else to go,
And we won't take the word no.
We'll live in space on our machines,
By all and any means.

But as the star watches,
As we destroy its notches.
It cries out in its dead form,
As we begin to swarm.

It can't help our galaxy,
It can't help its majesty.
The beautiful sun,
Once thought to be the only one.

But this lone star is dead,
And it has already bled.
The beautiful light,
That you see in the night.

If we destroy our home,
We will continue to roam.
Where else will we be,
Only destiny will tell as the stars plea.
