Dean sighed and took a swing of his beer. He was laid on top of his baby, while staring off into the sunset. It's been a week since Dean last saw Sam. They got into another fight, like always, and Sam stormed off. Dean tried contacting him, but Sam turned off his phone. He had spent the whole week looking for him, but no luck. Cas has been helping, but he still hadn't found Sam yet.
Dean put his head back and closed his eyes. He listened closely to the surroundings around him. The chirping of the crickets, the soft whispers of the wind, and the faint humming of the birds. Then he heard wings flapping and then a sudden stop. Castiel.
Dean's eyes fluttered open and he turned his head slightly to the right. He could see the celestial being sitting cross legged on the impala, quietly staring off into the sunset.
"Hey Cas," Dean croaked. Castiel solemnly nodded and didn't even face Dean. He took this opportunity to study Cas' face. Cas looked tired and worn out. His coat was crumpled at the collar and his tie was slating to the left. Dean could see a bit more wrinkles on Cas' face. Around the eyes and on his forehead. Dean thought that angels didn't age. It was odd seeing actually being able to see Cas up close.
"I didn't find him, yet," Cas whispered. Dean became a bit startled by Cas' voice coming out of nowhere.
"It's okay, Cas. We'll find him, eventually," Dean said as he gave Cas a warm smile.
"It is not okay, I should've been able to find him by now. Maybe I have to try harder."
"Cas, with everything that's been going on in heaven, you should take a break. I'm sure Sammy is fine where he is, hopefully."
"But Dean, Sam is your only living blood relative. I know you miss him a lot. And your really worried," Cas said as he slowly turned to face Dean. Dean could see that there was worry and stress written all over his face.
"This isn't the first time that Sam has stormed off. Okay? We'll find him or vice versa."
Cas sighed and went back to staring at the sunset. The sun was gone. There was only little pink-ish and red traces of light, on the horizon. The sky became a dark shade of blue mixed with blackness. The stars started to show up, twinkling high above.
Dean could see that Cas was still doubtful. He took a small sip of his beer and said, "With all the things happening up in heaven, I'm glad that you're here with me. And I really do mean it, Cas."
Dean could see a small smile appear on Cas' face. His body seemed to loosen up, like those words melted the hardships away.
"I'm happy that I'm with you too, Dean."
