It was early Sunday morning when my best pen-pal from Italy, Chiara, texted me. She said, "Getting on the plane now! I can't wait to finally come to America and meet you!" I texted her back immediately. I was so excited to meet her, I couldn't stand it!
A few hours later I got another text from Chiara, "About to land! See you soon, sister! 😊" Right then and there, I put on my shoes and grabbed my coat. Then I drove to the airport. I was so nervous! We have been planning this day for months now. I never thought it would really happen, but it is! It only took about an hour of waiting until I finally spotted her walking out of the gate with all of her luggage. I couldn't believe it was really her.
"Chiara!" I shouted
"Leanne!" She shouted back
"How was your flight? Oh my God, I can't believe this is actually happening!" I started jumping up and down in complete excitement. "Me too," she said, "And my flight was great!" Then she explained to me all the things that happened. Then she grabbed a rental car and followed me back to my house.
