I sit on the railing of mine and Soul's balcony, staring out beyond the boundaries of the city. It was very peaceful out here, looking out at the beautiful scenery. It's a place were I can think and ponder, mull and wonder. This is where I plan out our missions when we are given them and also where I think about my future.

When will Soul become a death weapon? What country is my mother in today? Will I ever do her justice? I close my eyes and breath in the crisp, autumn air, then gently let it out again. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

"Sooooouuuuuulll?!" Suddenly the door to the balcony opens, spitting out a smiling Blair and a terrified Soul. "What do you want from me?" Soul demanded with a glare. Blair pushed him against the railing, almost causing me to fall, and smirks. "Oh Soul if I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times. I want you to ditch this sorry excuse of a girl and be with me!"

I grit my teeth and hop off the railing, walking to the door. "Maka! Help me!" Soul yells out to me. I pause in the door way and slowly turn to him, a death glare veey prominent in my face. "Help yourself, it isn't cool to ask others to solve your problems." I plaster a fake grin on my face and send a small wave his way before I turn around and enter the house, shutting the door so I don't have to hear them yelling anymore.

"Damn it Maka, why didn't you help me out back there?" Soul asked, rubbing the back of his head as we both walked to class. My cape swirled around behind me as I put on my gloves one at a time. "You could have pushed her away anytime you wanted to." I stated, not looking at him. "To hell I could! I swear she doesn't look like much, but she has the strength of a bull." I giggle at this and cast a sideways glance his way. "Or maybe you're just losing your skill." He shoots a playful glare at me. "Shut up." He grumbles before we enter the classroom.

We take our usual seats next to each other and wait for class to start. "What do you think Dr. Stein will teach us today?" Soul shrugs at my question. "Most likely nothing, he'll probably just dissect another endangered species." I nod slightly in agreement. While we were talking, the other students made their way into the rooms and settled into their seats. I glance around the room and nudge Soul's side. "What?" He grumbles. He was now leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed. "Where is everyone?" I ask him. Class was about to start and none of our friends were here yet, heck, even our teacher wasn't here. He shrugs and makes an "I don't know" noise in the back of his throat.

I sigh and roll my eyes at him before bending down under the desk to get a pencil. "Good morning class! How is everyone today?" I pause mid reach and slowly peek my head over the desk to see my worst nightmare. "No no no, not him." I whisper to myself in horror. "Oh Maka, dear why are you hiding under the desk?" My father turns to me and asks. I sigh and let my head fall against the desk. "Why are you here?" I growl at him before lifting my head up to look at him. He grins at me and flips his crimson hair to the side. "Well, to make a long story short, I was walking by the death room when I overheard Stein saying something about needing a sub for today. Well I couldn't possibly pass up a chance to see my cute little girl, so I barged in and demanded to teach."

Yesterday
"Please Stein I'm begging you! Please let me be your substitute, please!" Death Scythe pleads while gripping the indifferent man's pant leg for dear life. "And why should I do that? With you in there, nothing would get done, nothing would be learned. In fact, let me make an educational guess, all you would do is fawn over your "cute" daughter and sabotage Mr. Evans." Tears were coming out of Death Scythe's eyes as he stared up at Stein. "Oh Stein, just let him this once, it won't hurt." Death says to him in his usual goofy tone. With a deep sigh, Stein looks down at the pitiful man. "Oh, I'm going to regret this."

Present Day

I look at my dad, disbelief clear on my face. "Whatever, let's just get this class over with." I quickly grab a pencil and some paper from under my desk so I can take notes. "Don't worry Maka, this class'll be over with before ya know it." Soul leans over and whispers to me. "Ahem, Mr. Evans, would you ever be so kind as to not interrupt my class?" My father clears his throat and glares at Soul. "Since when was this your class?" Soul asks, indifferent. My father's eyes don't leave Soul as he picks up a clipboard and clicks his pen. "Well Mr. Evans, it looks like you'll be getting an F today for bad behavior." Soul sits up in his seat. "Bad behavior, seriously?"

"Shall I give you an F for tomorrow too?" My father says, clicking the pen open once more. Soul just leans back in his seat and mutters to himself. My father smiles and puts down the clipboard. "Excellent, now, let us begin our learning experience today!" He starts to teach the class when suddenly, something (or rather someone) crashes through the ceiling. "YAHOOOOOOO!" The person yells through a cloud of dust. "See Tsubaki, I told ya I'd enter the room with a bang!" The dust settles showing a grinning Black Star and a horrified Tsubaki. "It was more of a crash then a bang. Black Star, when you said that I didn't have this in mind." Black Star turns to her and pats her on the back. "Exactly! If you would have known what I was gonna do, it wouldn't have been as exciting!"

He starts to walk up the aisle toward his seat, fist bumping Soul as he passes. "Sweet entrance Star." Black Star fills with pride as he takes his seat. "Mr. Evans, since you refused to follow instructions, you get an F for tomorrow's grade." My father says as he starts scribbling on the clipboard. "What the hell?! I wasn't the one who crashed through the freakin roof." Death Scythe just rolls his eyes and continues the lesson. However, once again he was interrupted by an outside source. Kid rides into class on his floating skateboard with Liz and Patty in gun form in his hands. "Sorry we're late, Kid would not leave the house until all the candle wax was dripping symmetrically." Liz complained when she turned back to herself. "Well I'm sorry Liz that I'm invested in my hobbies." Kid says defensively. " It's not really a hobby, it's more like an obsession." Patty says light heartedly. Kid rolls his eyes and starts to head to his seat when he spots the hole in the ceiling.

He collapses to the ground in agony and horror as he looks up at it. "W-What on Earth?! How could anyone let this happen to my father's school?!" His voice shakes as he speaks. I think he's about to cry when he suddenly points his pinky and pointer fingers at Liz and Patty. "Liz, Patty! Clean up this, this monstrosity at once." Patty salutes. "Aye aye!" She says before trotting over to the mess. "Yes master." Liz says sarcastically before she too, goes over to the hole and starts to clean up. Kid is still on the ground when he speaks (more like growls) his next words. "Who did this?" He almost whispers in a deadly tone.

Black Star immediately raises his hand and points at himself. "Awesome right? You should have seen me, I was all like CRASH! Then YAHOOOOOO! It was so cool." Kid slowly stands up, his head hanging. "Why you...." He mutters before he launches himself at Black Star. They soon become a cloud of fists and feet, random yells emerging occasionally. "Oh dear, I should try to break them up." Tsubaki says before hurrying over to them. My father sighs at all this and once again picks up the clipboard. "I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice Mr. Evans. You will receive an F for the whole week." Soul stands up from his chair and slams his hands on the desk. "Are you kidding me right now?!"

Soon, the entire room erupts into chaos. Liz and Patty are making a lot of noise trying to repair the hole, Kid and Black Star are still fighting while Tsubaki is standing over them telling them to stop, Death Scythe and Soul are arguing across the room, and the rest of the class thinks that now would be a good time to idly chit chat with one another. I groan and let my head slam on the desk, trying to let the dull throb in my head distract me from all the idiocity. Why am I always surrounded by nut jobs?
