The Border of Asakusa (Benimaru x Reader)

"I assume the onsen was- enjoyable?" Konro asked delicately as he moved around the guardhouse kitchen.

You stirred the large pot for breakfast. "Yes. Sounds like I owe you a debt for the lessons and advice you provided." You mused. 

"I'll take a few bottles of your homemade sake for my trouble. He's always been a fast learner at... physical endeavors. I just- didn't realize how clueless he was at the start."

You giggled. "Well, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you." You removed the pot from the heat.

Konro stepped out of the small kitchen as Beni stepped in. He kissed your cheek. "Thank you for breakfast." He hummed as he grabbed a pile of bowls. 

"It was my turn to cook, sir."

You felt him behind you, placing the empty bowls down at your right. "Don't give me that." He rumbled behind your ear as he body surrounded you, but didn't touch you. You leaned back so your shoulders could feel the rise and fall of his chest. "When combat training is done I want-"

"Y/n. You're coming with me to the 8th today." Krono returned to the kitchen.

"What? Why?" Beni complained.

"Yes, Sir. What are we discussing?" You handed Beni a filled bowl. He grumbled something about Konro being a professional kill joy as he left the kitchen.

"Resources. It's come to my attention that you should have weapons at your disposal." Konro grabbed a bowl of the steel cut oatmeal you made for the station for breakfast. It was a slight adjustment for them, but it soon became a favorite breakfast option due to the sheer volume of toppings you brought in.

"Ah. I'd um. I'd also like to talk about engineering resources, sir. From what I've observed over the last month, I believe there are some things I could build that would be helpful for the town. Independent of Amaterasu, of course."

Hina and Hika chimed in, "She's going to make us an ice cream machine for the summer harvest festival!" They cheered. "She promised! She promised!"

"I did, in fact, promise." You smiled at the girls as you walked out of the kitchen with your bowl.

"And! Teacher said we're coming to the garden tomorrow!" Hika bounced. She reached for additional sugary toppings. Beni took the jar of brown sugar out of her hand. Hina reached for more cinnamon sugar. Beni pulled that jar from her too. "WAKAAAA" They whined. 

"I'm excited to show your class what's growing." You took at seat a Beni's side. He'd pulled your seat cushion close to him as the other hikeshi filed in. 

You felt his hand on your thigh with the soft rub of his thumb. "Are you and Konro taking public transit or your motorcycle?" 

"Public transit, and then the 8th will give us a ride back." Konro answered. "We'll be back after dinner. Let's go, Y/n." 

"She'd not done with breakfast." Beni considered pulling rank... 

You took a few big bites to finish your food, stood, and bent down to kiss his cheek. "See you tonight, Captain." You mused. "Have a good day at school girls!" You smiled as you followed Konro out the door. The girls left a couple minutes later. 

The soft smile in Beni's face fell. "Sato. You're in charge. Run the drills."

"Uh. Sir?"

"I'll be back before lunch." He grabbed a matoi and flew off.

Sato, Haru, and Akio glanced around to each other. "Men. We have a mission. Find Konro's notes!"  They scattered and caught up the other Hikeshi on the invaluable knowledge contained in these notes.
