it's never black and white
always a little gray
the needle won't point north or south
in the middle is where it stays
the answer isn't yes or no
but somewhere in between
her smile isn't fake or real
though it contradicts what she feels
you might be laughing, or even crying
but tears come out all the same
celebrities are not sad or happy
just confused about their fame
the same way life isn't bad or good
but being a blessing or a curse
instead of being in between,
it's usually much worse.
