"Oh- Oh shit, yeah uh- Yeah I just...haven't made mine yet, I'll get to it. Worry not Mr. Wimbleton." You answered using the assassin's last name. Swiftly you whipped yourself around to turn the stove back on and grab the butter. Before you were able to get to work, a fingerless gloved hand with a firm grip held onto your wrist.
"No." Hank spoke, he almost sounded disappointed somewhere in his monotone dark voice. It was quiet, and almost threatening. Maybe he simply spoke like that, either way you weren't used to it, and you weren't going to get used to it anytime soon. You spent so long fearing this man, you standing here making breakfast was still almost hard for you to believe.
"I'm sorry. Par-?" As you spoke you were interrupted with a grilled cheese sandwich being placed into your mouth. It was swift to get into your mouth but gentle enough that he wasn't shoving it in and choking you with it. You blinked in shock before looking down to the sandwich, Hank's hand holding it to your mouth incase you decided to open your mouth instead of chew. Your eyes traveled to his hand then to his uncovered face. Quickly you began to chew, before taking a bite and taking the sandwich into your mouth, Hank let go and turned back to his seat. Sanford and Deimos completely ignored the two of you as they finished their cheesy snack.
"Breakfast! Haven't had some in a while!" Deimos joked as Sanford nodded, laughing along.
"Test Passed. Trust your allies." Hank spoke, Deimos and Sanford quieted their chatter to Hank's words. Him? Testing you? To be honest they aren't sure if they could trust him either. You turned over to look at the assassin, his head tilted downward, quietly eating his other half of the sandwich. Deciding not to question you proceed to finish up the sandwich. Sanford and Deimos finish up their breakfast and place their dishes in the sink.
"Gee how many tests are there?"
"I literally said ten earlier-" Deimos answered, Sanford brushed a couple loose crumbs on his cheek onto the table. Deimos gave no reaction and continued to playfully frown towards you.
"Huh, your stupid ugly face must've distracted me from listening..." You spoke, once again the house was filled with an awkward silence. It was only ever this quiet when you woke up in the mornings and prepared the bar for work, if this was normally how it was going to be then you'd better get used to it quickly. "My god this is awkward, you sure there ain't any work for today?"
"There is. You're coming along." Hank answered, he looked toward the living room and noticed your dark helmet missing. "Or not."
"Or not? Why not?"
"No helmet. She'd be seen and possibly recognized." Hank explained, Sanford and Deimos looked at you then at Hank.
"Does it really matter though?" Sanford asked, staring at the sarcastic being who stood near the kitchen island. "They ain't look like they used to, that's for sure." The sunglassed man looks you up and down.
"Nah, she was probs important." Deimos adds in, joining Sanford's eyes in a more teasing way.
"Probs?" You sweated, raising an eyebrow at Deimos' slang.
"Yuh, Auditor kept ya alive for a reason. You see her room Sanford, she was loaded with weapons. You're still a sniper, aren't you?" Deimos asks cockily, as Sanford began to think back. He snaps before nodding, his lips parting with a small smile.
"Oh yeah, and you mentioned physically meeting with the Auditor, surely he's kept you alive for more reasons than food if he thinks you're sweet. You're an important and efficient asset." Sanford concluded, he's got you all figured out. In response to his conclusions you nodded, not hiding a thing from the group.
"Correct. I'll need to cover a lot of my face and notable aspects of myself to avoid suspicion. I don't believe that he thinks I'm dead so easily. Sure I'm off the radar, but he has me chipped."
"So I should kill you here and now."
"No. So he knows I'm still alive."
"Oh."
...
"Apologies."
~~~Damn That Was Awkward...TIME SKIP!~~~
Your POV [Written in First Person]
[Them bitches loved your breakfast, been a while since they actually got any lmao]
"Ready for your first day kiddo?"
"Don't call me that Mr. D's. And what do you mean first day? I'm a trained professional, with a PHD and a medical license." I mentioned, a small gentle smile making it to my features before I fixed a dark helmet over my head.
"Who also ran a bar and served FIRE buffalo chicken wings!" Sanford unnecessarily added to which I nodded with a proud huff. Deimos' smirks and rolls his eyes as Sanford lets out a chuckle.
Hank has decided to travel by foot, though I worried about his choices and made sure to express my concerns he had told me to not get attached. Reminding me that any of us could die at any moment, in fact he said to deem it safer for us if he were to travel solo before meeting up with us later. If we live to "later". Personally, I thought I was going to be fine with support from Sanford and Deimos, the only thing I did worry for running into anyone I knew. I would have to kill them, I would have to watch them die.
I signed up for this when I had began working as an agent in the first place, it was bound to happen and it has, those who have fallen were barely even given a funeral, may their bodies lay forever where they once stood... unless tampered with. A tragic and lonely death, not much you can do with a corpse anyway. I guess my feelings had begun to soften when I opened up that bar, a place to unwind and relax. Get to know people. Maybe that was my mistake. I have come to accept this long before, though I guess I am worried now that my "circle of friends" had shrunk to a group of 3.
"Oh yeah, I don't think Hank ever mentioned 2B."
Make that 4.
"Who?" I ask, my voice being muffled through the helmet.
"Don't worry about it, we'll tell ya later." Sanford chuckles, his smug smile doesn't leave his face as he seems to pat my head with his eyes behind his sunglasses. He probably couldn't see the raised eyebrow I exchanged in response. Despite my curiosity on the mention of this new person, I took it out of mind as Deimos hopped into the car. The damn thing was small and had no roof, but it was efficient and fast, the van would get us caught for sure. We were better off with this thing anyway. I think.
Deimos is driving, so now I get to spend a bit of time with Sanford, it was quiet for the most part, mainly Deimos and Sanford doing the talking. I made sure to cover up every bit of skin on my body with pants, belts, this turtleneck and sleeveless coat. While conversation circulated around, I had stared down to my hands covered in gloves.
"Alright, just gonna take out a couple MAG Agents, you rock with that?"
"MAG Agents...?" I questioned, I've heard a couple of grunts and agents mention them back when I worked, though I was told they were only a test... I guess their tests were successful to get them to function...But what is a MAG Agent...?"
