Day four in Paris, the penultimate day before my seventeenth birthday. He leaned towards me, his eyes searching mine for secrets. "Em, spill it out. You've been cryptic for days," Andrew urged, perching himself beside me on the bed. His eagerness to unravel my hidden thoughts was palpable.

"What exactly do you want to know?" I questioned, meeting his gaze. He wore a hopeful expression, a mixture of curiosity and concern. "Everything. I want to understand," he said, the anticipation evident in his voice. I hesitated, grappling with my words. "It's not that I don't want to tell you, Andy. It's just... complex, you know?" I confessed, a tinge of uncertainty lingering in my voice.

"Hey, take your time. I don't want to push," Andrew replied, offering a reassuring smile. "But whenever you're ready, I'm here."

I bit down on my lip, contemplating whether to spill the thoughts weighing heavily on my mind. Before I could gather my words, Avery strolled into the room, her hair cascading down, and wrapped in a towel that somehow managed to accentuate her beauty. "Hey," she greeted, her voice a soft rasp that sent an unexpected rush through me. My cheeks warmed; she looked stunning.

Andrew offered a somewhat awkward smile. "Hi," he mumbled, visibly uncomfortable. "I forgot my clothes," Avery explained nonchalantly, breezing past us towards the closet. Andrew glanced back at me, and I found myself locking eyes with him.

"So?" he prompted, sensing my hesitation. "Hey... can we talk later?" I interjected, rising from the bed. Andrew raised a curious brow, but before he could finish his sentence, realization dawned on him. "Oh... wow," he chuckled, catching on to the situation. I flushed with embarrassment, attempting a sheepish smile. "Later, yeah?" I managed to say, a mix of nerves and anticipation coursing through me.

He nodded knowingly and exited the room, leaving me to exhale a nervous breath. I closed the door behind him, locking it, and leaned against it for a moment, trying to calm the racing thoughts in my mind.

"Cheeky," a voice chimed behind me. I turned around to find Avery, her towel still wrapped snugly around her. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "So, he's caught on now?" she quipped, a sly grin forming on her lips. I swallowed and nodded slightly. "Yeah, probably," I muttered softly. Avery's smirk widened, and she tilted her head. "You good?" she inquired, concern lacing her words. I hummed faintly, offering a feeble nod. "I'm alright," I murmured. With a nod of acknowledgment, Avery pushed the bathroom door open. "I'll be back," she mumbled before disappearing inside. I returned to the bed and grabbed my phone, scrolling through a few messages
