Well, hello there, reader!
Thanks for clicking/pressing on my story! If you want it, here's a bit of backstory as to how Plan B, formally titled Just a Room Away, came to be: about a year and half ago, I started on a DigitalTime fic, which I decided one sentence into the first chapter would be awful and gave up. Only, a while later, I remembered the plot outline I'd made and thought... maybe I could make something decent if I expanded on this. After making that decision, I spent some days using the idea I had as a foundation to build off of, and eventually ended up with the storyline we have today. Not flawless, but I tried my best.
Oh and also I guess I just felt the need to write something related to DigitalTime.
So now here we are.

By the way, reading this A/N is obviously optional, so go ahead and start reading the actual fanfic if you don't feel like it. However, there are some essential things you might want to know before reading, just to clear up confusion:
•If there's any genre I don't write often, it's romance. Which is inconvenient, seeing as ship fanfictions... are romance stories. The quality of the romance in this fanfic will likely waver, so just bear with me and the fact that I suck at actually writing romance while you read this. I guess I was just so desperate to write a DigitalTime fanfic that I forgot that I suck at romance, so yay.
•I didn't intend on it, but judging by the comments and feedback I've received from my readers, I seem to have created a very angsty and upsetting fic. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't say here whether or not it gets better, but I will say that shouldn't deter you from reading on, if you can help it.
•The overall POV rule in this fanfic is that the perspective switches between Tony and Colin every chapter. As such, you will likely notice that Chapter 6 doesn't follow this rule like every other chapter. That's only because, as much as I've tried, I can't find a way to have it be from Colin's perspective without revealing a later plot point too early. So... we're sticking with two chapters in a row from Tony's perspective. Sorry, my bad.
•This fanfic does not include any human forms or other character-based AUs. Or any AUs whatsoever, for that matter. I know it's an extremely unpopular opinion, and you might just think I'm crazy for it, but I've never really been a fan of any of these concepts. This isn't to say you can't imagine the characters in their human forms (to the best of your ability... because it would be very difficult) if you'd prefer to, though.
•I know I just said I'm using object forms, and I am, at all times, but you might notice occasional human-like descriptions. That's only because human characteristics are the easiest and most natural-feeling characteristics to describe, because, well... I am human. And anyway, from the experience I've had with writing this fanfic, I've learned that it is very hard to write animated objects without a lot of it sounding odd.
•Also, Colin does not have a tail in my writing, even though I know this is a very widely loved fanon detail of his character design.
•This fanfiction is really for anyone who would wish to read it, but I should forewarn you that Chapter 9 has a scene that is particularly violent compared to the rest of the fanfic. I won't specify any further to avoid giving out spoilers, but just be aware of that.

I started writing this a while before the new Channel 4 TV show came out, and at that time, I had a lot of headcanons based on the scrapped pilot episode that I incorporated into the plot of this fanfiction (unfortunately). For example:
