Armin and you had been dating for 2 years now. You had both met through your mutual friend, Eren Jaeger. You had been friends with each other since school. You'd both moved in with one another.

Mikasa was a little worried about it due to Armin's prior relationship not working out when he'd moved in with Annie. So it wasn't just a big step for him but Mikasa, since she was his shoulder to cry on.

So you'd been met with the protective big sister talk from her. But 3 months living in the same apartment had proved positive, Armin had been the happiest he had ever been.

Saturday came around and your sweet boyfriend entered the bedroom, two coffee's in hand. "Morning beautiful," he said as he sat the mug on your bedside table. "Sleep well?"
"Like a baby," you smiled back and wrapped your arms around him. You planted a soft kiss on his lips, "you?"
He hummed in agreement."

"(Y/n) I was thinking we could spend all day together, what do you think?" Armin asked.
"Well I don't mind, as long as I can cuddle my boyfriend during the entire time," you replied. You gave him a small peck on the lips before pulling back. He let out a sigh of relief at the sight of that adorable smile of yours and went down to give you a tight hug.

You giggled in return at his action and kissed him again softly.
After a moment or so, the two of you pulled apart and headed downstairs to get ready for the day.

The two of you were walking down the street holding hands and talking about random things, as you walked, occasionally stealing glances at one another. You looked up at his face as you continued to walk and saw that his eyes were closed and there was a relaxed look on his face as he walked.

Although there was nothing concrete planned for the two of you to do. Both of you still found a way to fill the day with a number of joyous activities.

It started out simple. Walking hand in hand along the streets of the city, chatting aimlessly while you both enjoyed each other's company. Then trying the ice cream at a new shop that had just opened.

The pair of you had shared some ice cream whilst continuing to chat about everything and anything.

Eventually, the two of you ended up going to Central Park. Armin had suggested a spot where they had an interesting view of the lake that resided in the park.
The two of you had sat side by side on a bench overlooking the water. You were sitting facing Armin and had your head resting on his shoulder.

"Hey Armin?" you asked after awhile.
"Yes (Y/n)? What's up?"
You glanced towards him and gave a gentle smirk, "can I tell you something funny? It might be stupid though."
His eyebrow raised slightly at that, curious if you wanted to share something with him, he nodded at you and took a sip from his own cone.

"Okay, I have a secret that no one knows except for me and Connie. That's why I'm asking if you will promise not to laugh." you explained.
Armin chuckled softly at your last statement, "I'll try not to laugh, what is the secret?"

"You know how Sasha has been so nosy about the relationship between Eren and Mikasa?"

Armin took a big bite out of his cone, "it's kinda obvious. She must be wanting them to hurry up and admit their feelings for each other."

"Actually it's the opposite, Sasha wants to know the ins and outs because she's crushing on Mikasa."

Armin's brows raised, "are you serious?!"

"Mhm!" You said while taking lick at your slowly melting ice cream. Armin appeared to be compelelty blown away by this news.

"I'm surprised you never worked it out mister big brain."

He laughed and stole a bit from your cone, "hey that's my ice cream!" Armin returned a cheeky grin as an answer while he chewed. After finishing your ice cream you threw the remains in a nearby trash can.

The rest of the afternoon you and Armin walked in comfortable silence, taking in one last view of the sparkling water.

Finally Armin decided you should see a movie, the actual movie didn't matter but you had to pick the recent horror one to come out. Knowing he wasn't too fond of the genre.

Armin gripped the sleeve of your top so much it scrunched under his fingers. "Honey if the movie is really thay scary we can leave the theatre. I promise I won't be mad."

"No I'm ok, besides I have to be here in case you get scared or something." His mistake was saying this with his eyes squeezed shut, "sure." Shaking your head in slight amusement you popped a piece of popcorn in your mouth.

The couple of minutes till the start of the movie passed relatively quickly, you couldn't say the same for Armin. Your boyfriend was practically trembling next to you.
Once the film ended you turned to Armin giving him a small smile. He didn't seem to notice and was still clutching onto your shirt sleeve.

"Are you going to be alright?" You asked, he simply shook his head without uttering a single sound. "Oh honey, come here," you whispered wrapping an arm around his shoulder as he leaned against you. The taller boy curled himself into you tightly as he shivered a bit more.

"I'll chase away all the monsters my wittle scaredy cat." You teased , he just huffed out a breath, causing you to giggle softly at how cute he looked.

By the time you got home it was 11pm, Armin let go a yawn. "Time for bed I reckon."

You nodded in agreement, heading to the bedroom to change into your pj's. Soon both you were tucked under the covers, you snuggled up to your boyfriend from behind. Expecting him to draw random shapes on your knuckle, it was his way of lulling you to sleep.

But he didn't react and you guessed it was because he had his face stuck in his phone. A pit of annoyance settled in your gut so you separated yourself from him.

A few minutes passed and he shut his phone off, shifting the front of him towards the back of you. Making it his turn to spoon you. The small shift of movement stirred you awake, not enough to alert him though.

So while he kept you in his arms you pretended to still be asleep. "Today was really wonderful (Y/n), it's been so long since we've been able to spend even 2hrs alone. Our schedules just wouldn't let us stay with the other too long. So it was truly a blessing and it made me realise something..."

A moment of silence passed as he leaned in and whispered in your ear, "I love you."

The whole world stilled, never ever had either of uttered those words. Hearing him say just that, set fireworks in your belly.

You knew he loved you and that he always would. But hearing it said out loud felt special. Like everything suddenly clicked into place and you realised just how true his words were. You let another minute pass by before you said it yourself, "I love you too."

Once you awoke the next morning Armin was not present anywhere in the apartment. And a sticky note on the fridge along with breakfast explained why.
