Running. That's what I have always done. I was born in a world run by demons Aliens basically everything supernatural. My parents had told me stories of a world where humans once had peace. Of course they had there differences from time to time but that all changed after the big war. First it was the Aliens, shapeshifters as you would call them. Apparently they where part lizard and could transform into anything they thought of. After they had exposed themselves they started a war claiming that humans where unfit to rule Earth anymore.

They locked most up into concentration camps. I've heard horror stories on how they would eat humans once they where done with them. My parents where lucky enough to escape one of them. Either way after the Aliens had succeeded in taking over all the other fairytail nightmares people thought where just stories came out of hiding. They created a place where they could live in peace. Because of that humans where sold as slaves and where either kept as pets or eaten alive. Before my parents had died my father talked about a place located in the East where humans could roam safely without any worries.

The East is where I'm headed.

All was going well until a girl had fallen from the sky and landed right on top of me.

"OUCH!" Shoving her off I grab my makeshift knife and get in a defensive position. The girl in front of me was covered in dirt blood was displayed on her side as she held her arm in pain as if it where broken.

When her eyes landed on me I couldn't help but back against a tree as I pointed my knife in her direction.

"J-Just stay away from me!" I had to be careful. Who knew what kind of creature this girl was.

"Chill. No need to get defensive. I'm a human as well. I was actually on the run from some wolf soldiers, figured I'd get away from them if I hopped from tree to tree but lost my footing and fell."

"P-Prove to me that your human!" In all honesty, aside from my parents I had never met a human.

"Well for starters my arm is definitely broken. Can't the supernatural heal?"

She's not wrong. Lowering my knife a bit she walks towards me and smiles.

"The names Alic-"

All of a sudden I watched her body slowly began to topple over making me rush forward as I caught her. From a distance I could hear voices yelling.

"SHE WENT THIS WAY!"

Panicking I lift her onto my back and run. God she was heavy. Thankfully I found a hidden cave nearby. Lifting up her shirt I grimaced at the large gash in her side. It definitely needed stitches. Unfortunately I don't have the materials for that. Which meant I would have to go into town which was dangerous in itself.

Closing my eyes I used the last of my skunk spray as to try and block my scent. Putting on a hood I make my way into town as I looked around with an annoyed look. This would be so much easier if I could read. Stopping at a small store I looked around hoping to find what I needed. However after a few minutes of searching I gave up.

"Hi there! I sense your having some trouble. How may I be of service?"

Tensing I glance over only to see a smiling elf. She was small. Not at all like the elves my father had told me about. She suddenly looked annoyed as she muttered something g under her breath knocking the hood from my head as I panicked.

Coming to town was a bad idea.

Pulling out my knife I aimed it right at her only to have it flung from my hand making me pale. Shit shit shit this isn't good! Looking towards the open door I rush towards it hoping to escape and yet imagine my surprise when I run face first into the door making me groan as I stumble backwards.

"A humans worth about 100 gold pieces. That should cover my rent for the entire year."

It's she walked towards me I couldn't help but quiver in fear. All I wanted was to help this girl and yet, she's as good as dead now. Screwing my eyes shut I prepared for the worst.

"Pint."

Peeking open my eyes I looked up in confusion as this girl crossed her arms looking angry at herself.

"I'll give you what you need in exchange for a pint of your blood. Humans have grown extinct. All humans are kept by none other then the demon queen herself. So a pint of your blood should be enough to cover my rent for a few months."

"Y-Your not going to kill me? Eat me? Turn me in?"

"Although I was a little annoyed with you calling me short. Your thoughts where pure and innocent. I sense no malice of any kind. However if you cross my path again, I won't hesitate to sell you off. I'm sure some Legacy vampire would pay triple in order to have her own personal blood bag. All you require are heals correct?"

How?

One thing you should know is that some elves can read minds. So best be careful with your thoughts yeah?

Huh?! She just spoke in my mind. I was literally stunned. But I'm happy she's not going to eat me. This will be the last time I ever help anyone ever again.

Sitting down I allow her to take a pint of my blood even though I was petrified of needles.

"Here. Eat this, it will help with your lightheadedness."

She gave me something small and round making me frown as I look at it nervously.

She's trying to poison me, isn't she?

She suddenly grabbed it out of my hand and shoved it in my mouth making me tense until excitement overcame me.

This was so good! It was so sweet! Nothing like I have ever tasted before!

"At least you humans created one useful thing before your end. There, all done. Here."

She suddenly handed me a clear vial making me frown.

"Pour that on her wound and she should be better within 24 hours. Oh and take this. This will turn you invisible for only 5 minutes so I suggest you get a move on and go back to where you came from."

Before I left I looked back at the kind elf girl and smiled.

"Thank you."

Without another word I left. Getting back to the hidden cave was easy. Healing the girl also took affect quite quickly. However she was still left unconscious. I wanted to leave but, should I really leave her here vulnerable and alone?

Scrunching up my nose as I paced back and fourth I made a decision to wait. At least until she woke up. Hopefully this girl doesn't cause me to much trouble like today.
