A short description of how it all started~

Suzanne McKinley was a famous criminal lawyer. She seemed to be perfect for the world. Having a loving husband, Jacob McKinley, and their two angel-like sons. Jacob was a supportive partner, he encouraged and took care of his wife and their kids at all times.

Jacob was a self-made entrepreneur and photographer, he spent most of his time with the children. Even though Suzanne was busy with work most of the time, she never forgot to spend time with the children.

Everything in Suzanne's life was easy, from school to college and at work, and how she had to convince her parents to let her get married to her love of life. Her friends and colleagues loved her, and her presence alone made everything about her enchanting.

It was dreamy... Until...

She had crossed paths with Samuel Adams Johnson her client who was suspected of the murder of the Deputy Police Chief in the City of Los Angeles.

Who turned her beautiful dream into a nightmare? A loving family into a broken one! A heart that was beating to stop!

------

The night where it all changed~

The quiet night was filled with their cries, She was very tired, tired of being broken, tired of hiding and running from place to place to save her. Yes. Her.

Suzanne McKinley gave birth to a baby girl not long ago. But those five days without her husband Jacob felt like five years to her. It was tough, to provide for the child without a job and with no place to live.

Providing proper and nutritious food to the baby was her main goal now. She was determined! But had no strength in her body, physically or emotionally.

She was now walking in front of a grocery store with her baby cradled against her chest. She was in tattered ragged clothes and used her waist-length hair to cover her face from others spotting her in public. As soon as she walked into the store, some people gave her weird stares, and some started talking about how she didn't belong there while some didn't even bother to look at her.

She walked to the aisle where baby products were and was searching for food for her baby, nobody was present in that aisle, and she preferred that more than anything. There were different kinds of food for babies, toys Et cetera.

The baby who was sleeping peacefully until now started to cry out of nowhere making Suzanne startle and panic. She was trying her best to make the baby stop crying but the latter wouldn't stop. Suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere.

No, it's not that he appeared out of nowhere, it was Suzanne who didn't realize what was going around her when her baby suddenly wanted to cry out loud.

Suzanne looked up to see the one man whom she had not expected, the man whom she had spent most of her childhood with. Her Best friend Brian Renette, the shock evident on his face by seeing his long lost best friend. But the state she was in, he knew better, that this was not the time or place to be asking her things.

She tried to scurry away after seeing him but he caught her wrist and bought the food along with some other food supplements which was in her cart. And then drove them back to the hotel where he was staying with his wife in New York. He was in New York as his wife's presence was necessary at an art exhibition.

The car ride was silent and so was the ride in the elevator up the hotel room. If you're wondering about the baby then let me tell you, she was calmed down by her mother's best friend and was also being carried by him to the hotel room.

Brian swiped the hotel room key card and entered the room as Suzanne was still in the hallway and didn't move an arm to stop him from taking her baby inside the room.

She knew him as much as he knew her. They were best friends and had known each other since diapers, but they stopped seeing each other after one of them decided to move out of the country to become a lawyer.

She was still guilty about how she had bid him goodbye through a letter, she was lost in thoughts when she snapped her fingers in front of her face.

"Back to Earth!! babe. Jeez! She became so much thinner than the last time she was aired on the T.V. don't you think Bree?"

It was Jenna Renette, Brian Renette's wife and Suzanne McKinley's best friend. Seeing both of her best friends together made Suzanne feel more vulnerable than she had these past few days.

She threw herself into Jenna's arms and cried like a baby in the hallway of the hotel room.

"There, there, alright now, it will all get better, okay babe? Come on. Stop crying now", Jenna said softly patting her back and calming her down which worked like it always used to.

When they were still teens, Suzanne used to cry in her embrace complaining about how she was tackled while boxing with Brian.

She took her inside and made her sit on the couch.

"Babe, did you eat something? Do you wanna have something warm, How about hot chocolate? wait, wait! What were you even doing out there, it's so cold. And that too with a baby? Do you really think it's okay to go out in this weather? Why don't you ever listen to your husband for once? Will it kill you to wear warm clothes while coming out of the house? Wait, are you okay babe?", Jenna stopped her rants and looked at her best friend with a worried face.

"I'm glad you haven't changed a bit", Susanne whispered to Jenna and hugged her. It was the first sentence that came out of Suzanne's mouth.

"Well, I do think I'm hotter than how I looked back in the day. What do you say?", Jenna said playfully while wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yes, of course, you are Jenna", Suzanne said tiredly, pulling out of the hug.

"Where is my baby Jenna?", Susanne asked.

"She's with Bree, and he's so mad at you! But don't worry as He is your best friend and my loving husband. He'll understand whatever you are gonna say to him so, don't make him madder by not speaking to him. Alright?", she asked with pleading eyes.

"Yeah, I'll try not to," Suzanne said and went in search of her baby and her best friend.

There she saw her baby being fed by her best friend, and Suzanne was more than grateful that she had people, who would look after her daughter and care for her just as she would. And the people whom she had were her well-trusted ones on whom she could rely her daughter with.

------

Spoiler alert~

"Till then, she shouldn't be associated with the family, at any cost. And then maybe one day, she will forgive her mother. Goodbye"
