Billy and Y/N weren't together officially, they were seeing each other secretly and had been for the last few months of course it was his idea but Y/N didn't mind— well she thought she didn't mind, that was until she walked through the school corridors making her way to her locker, she never looked over at Billy she pretended like he didn't exist when they were in public but once they were alone the pair couldn't keep their eyes off one another.
When Y/N reached her locker she put in the combination with her frozen cold fingers so it took a little bit longer than usual, when she started to put her books and other stuff into her locker Y/N could've sworn she heard a girl mention Billy's name but she didn't pay much attention until something else was said that was until whatever was being said was getting my interesting.
'I went over last night, his step sister was out with her bratty friends and we couldn't keep our hands off each other. He really lives up to the rumours.' The girl said, Y/N closed her locker door and when she looked to her left she saw a petite blonde girl gossiping with her friends about what she got up to last night, Y/N was of course hurt by what she heard but the thing that upset her the most was that Y/N was also round Billy's place last night, she helped Max with her homework and saw Billy for an hour or two before heading home— so in Y/N's mind as soon as she left the blonde girl who Y/N didn't know obviously went over to his house straight after she had left,
Y/N looked at the girl and she didn't know who she was all she knew was that she was pretty and definitely more Billy's obvious type, Y/N then looked over at Billy who was stood with his friends and he secretly sent her a smile but Y/N just ignored him and walked out of the school and headed down the steps making her way outside to go home she was glad that she had a dentist appointment that day otherwise she didn't know how she could be around Billy knowing what he got up to last night.
Evening fell and Y/N was at home waiting for her mother to come home from doing a large food shop so she would be gone for at least a couple of hours, Y/N was sat on her sofa listening to her Walkman while reading a book when she could've sworn she heard a knock at the door. She paused her tape but there was just silence she it was obviously just her imagination, but as she pressed play the knocking was louder so she took off her headphones and placed the book and Walkman on the coffee table in front of her before making her way to the front door,
When Y/N opened the door she saw Billy stood in front of her in a red flannel shirt and a look on his face that she didn't seem to recognise,
"Where were you today?" He asked
"Dentist." Y/N replied shortly
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked
"Didn't think I needed too." She said
"What's wrong with you? You're being weird." Billy asked again and Y/N scoffed
"What is this? Twenty questions?" The girl said in annoyance, she then walked over to her sofa and Billy wasn't sure if he should follow Y/N or not but he did anyway and closed the door behind him. "You know I didn't mind the secrecy of us, I also didn't mind that we weren't a proper couple and we just saw each other when we were both lonely." Y/N continued
"What are you on about?" Billy asked
"But what I do mind is that I had to hear while I was stood by my locker that another girl was boasting to her friends that she obviously slept with you last." Y/N finally let out,
"Y/N—"
"I think her words were we couldn't keep our hands off each other. He really lives up to the rumours. Yeah that's definitely what she said." Y/N said spitefully to Billy who had been caught out in his selfishness "I was round your house last night, I spent time with you and Max I even cooked dinner for the both of you. I actually thought you liked me Billy." Y/N sighed
"I do like you Y/N." He told her
"How wrong was I." Y/N whispered "She was there right after I left because I was the one who took Max to her friends house when I was leaving last night. So how long did you wait before you called that girl over?"
"Don't do this Y/N, it's not worth knowing." Billy sighed because he really did like Y/N he doesn't know why he did what he did last night
"Oh I think it is worth knowing, what do you think Billy should I give Steve a call? See if he's free." Y/N taunted horribly
"You wouldn't Y/N." He didn't believe her
"Do you think he'd answer? I think he would. Shall we try and call him?" She still taunted with tears in her eyes as she walked into the kitchen and picked up the phone on the wall, Y/N poked the phone number in and just before she could press the last digit to Steve's number Billy took the phone out of her hand and hung it back up. "I turned down people to date because you told me too, because you said that I was yours and yours only. God how stupid was I." Y/N wiped her tears away as she looked at Billy.
Billy was upset that he made Y/N feel like this but he didn't expect her to punch him in the face, his head flung back due to the impact of the punch— Y/N gripped her knuckles in pain from punching Billy in the face and when he tipped his head forward he wiped his nose and a bit of blood was left on his hand,
"You need to leave Billy. I'm going to make this so much easier for you, you can see who you want whenever you want because I don't want to see you anymore." Y/N said bravely
"You don't mean that Y/N, what I did last night was stupid I know that now but—"
"Yeah you know that now but it's just a shame you didn't know it last night when you had your hands all over her after you had your hands all over me, I mean it Billy you need to leave I won't let you treat me like this. I respect myself too much because this is a slippery slope and I will not be the one who gets hurt in the end of this." Y/N expressed as she left the kitchen and walked towards the front door which she opened for Billy.
He just stood in her kitchen, she didn't even look at him she just couldn't— she looked anywhere except into his eyes, finally she heard his footsteps get closer to her as he walked outside into the now torrential rain as he stood on her porch
"Please Y/N." He begged her as she wiped her eyes while finally meeting her eyes with his
"You haven't even said you're sorry." Y/N scoffed as she slammed the door in Billy's face, she then let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding in, Y/N then put her back to the door and broke down in loud cries it really felt like she had just broken up with Billy because her heart really was broken.
